About this item:
This decanter features a unique design with a 2-phase aeration and oxygenation system that brings decanting to a higher level. Phase 1 The process begins by pouring the wine into the decanter. The wine travels strategically out and onto the sides of the decanter, providing superior aeration and oxygenation. Phase 2 When serving, the wine is gently dispersed over the specially designed curves providing a second aeration phase which maximizes the scent and flavour of the wine. Aerating or oxygenating your wine has proven benefits including enhanced flavours and a better bouquet. This process means an experience of up to twice as much scent and flavour.

Right, first things first, yes this only holds half a bottle. But that's fine. You pour the wine in, and then you immediately pour a glass (or two) then add the remaining wine. No biggie. The aeration works immediately so as soon as the wine is in the decanter, it's ready to drink. I blind-tested it on my partner - two glasses of red, one from the decanter, one straight from the bottle and he immediately picked the aerated wine - on two occasions with different wines. Apart from anything else, the decanter looks beautiful, it's such a lovely addition to the table. And the fact that it's smaller works in its favour with regard to storing it. We will be buying another, just because we like them so much and intend to have a couple on the table at any time. Washing-wise, we haven't put it through the dishwasher, it is quite fragile, but a quick rinse with warm water and then standing it upright on the draining board has been more than adequate so far. We love it - and heartily recommend it.

Wanted a 1/2 bottle decanter as I'm the only red drink at home and like to spread a bottle over 2 nights. Have owned this for 2 years now and think it is fantastic.It looks good. I think the shape helps wine aeration but nothing special. If I'm decanting into a full bottle decanter I always flip the wine upside down into the neck of the decanter and I think that will do as good a job.I think it's made of polycarbonate - it's very light and when I dropped it on the kitchen floor and it just bounced around.This may not be for everyone - polycarbonate doesn't have the feel of glass - but for an everyday (ok - "mostday" :-} ) decanter it's great. The base looks like a plated metal and polycarbonate doesn't like the dishwasher so I've always just given it a thorough rinsing out. This has been absolutely fine as I don't leave it empty long enough for dry residues to form.Would immediately replace if I somehow break it. One of my most used kitchen accessories!

This item is a total con. It is cheaply made, thin, smaller than expected and not even the shape it looks on the box / advert.I was too embarrassed to even use it in front of guests.

I bought this for two reasons. Firstly to improve the taste of my wine which on a blind test it did. Secondly as I liked the look of it,felt it looked quite stylish and would make an interesting centre piece and talking point.Whilst it did improve the bouquet and taste of the wine in my opinion I prefer an over glass aerator that you can get, significantly cheaper too. Also in terms of the look in the pic here looks beautiful and curved when you actually get it its a little clinical looking and also pretty small and not the centrepiece I was hoping for.Pros:- improved the wine taste- pretty cool itemCons:- much too expensive for what you get- not as beautiful in real life- thought aerator was better for taste enhancement

Elegant and a good size. Although it technically could squeeze a while bottle is clearly aimed at half a bottle. The glass is a touch thin though. One could imagine this implies sophistication, but to my feel it's veering more to the fragile.

Bought this as a gift for my partner. It is a lovely decanter that does enable you to drink the wine immediately without allowing the usual time to 'breathe'. As per other reviews, it holds less than a bottle of wine, but this hasn't been an issue so far. Just pour more in as you go. The decanter is very delicate, so it is probably best to rinse immediately after use and leave to dry.

Designed to aerate SMALLER portions of favorite wines and it opens up the pour beautifully!!! So impressed, i bought another as a gift for my family member. To CLEAN add warm water and a little non-soapy non--clingy cleaner. I use Natures Miracle (i have cats) to break down residue, soak for a few minutes then rinse with warm water and air dry. LOVE THIS DECANTER
