That’s because it’s essential in creating bubbles of gas that cause bake goods to rise.     It's only fairly recently that we found out how effective bicarb is as a weed-killer. We have block paving, which is a nightmare to keep weed-free, but this stuff keeps them in check. We've had some questioning looks from neighbours and passers-by but, it's turned out to be quite a talking point as, when we've explained what we're doing and why, they've also shared their ways of keeping the weeds at bay. One tip I found online - don't use it on a windy day as anything it touches it will kill.

    A 10kg bag is c 1/10 of the price from Asda. So it's great value, just make sure you have the storage space for it! Bicarb is a great cleaning agent for fridge, microwave and wooden chopping-boards.

    Well packaged, speedy delivery, food grade bicarbonate of soda... Can use for EVERYTHING.... Cleaning, toothpaste, water softener, washing machine maintenance... I use this also for adding to the cat litter to prevent smells as even tho cleaned daily if I'm out for the day and the cats are in, can get a bit smelly ... This reduces urine smell massively...

    I've used other better quality products. This is not good enough for cleaning as it leaves a white smog and for drinking it's not as effective as the higher quality bicarbonate. I use bicarbonate as a laxative and this doesn't give the same effect ie burping. I'll use it for cleaning the loo and sinkholes
