5.0 out of 5 stars Great hammer

Good weight at 16oz, I had the 20oz previously which rusted as I used it for everything. Surprising how much better feel 4oz weight reduction makes. Best price I’ve found as well, not sure what difference the “antivibe” makes, as I’m not using it for hours at a time. But would recommend.

Bought this to replace stolen Estwing club hammer. Good overall, weight, balance, shaft length. Not as elegant as Estwing, though feels good in the hand, and knocks well.

I left my trusty 40-year old stanley on a fence post in my field after I'd fixed some rails back on and someone nicked it when they walked the footpath. I bought this and I think it's even better. Same shape, same whack, but slightly lighter - and slightly shorter, so it actually fits into my tool box, unlike the old one. A good buy.I hope the thief hammers their thumb.

Its heavy. Its does the job well. As the shaft tapers and is metal, if you miss the target you dont split the shaft if its wood, or chip it if its FG.We have driven 1000's of steel spikes into the ground with this for a fencing job and its well balanced and just like new after weeks of industrial use.We also use the smaller ones in the range. All are spot on.

5.0 out of 5 stars It may be heavier than you think.

It is comfortable to hold with a well shaped shaft, so you shouldn't accidentally lose your grip.Vibration does seem to be very slightly reduced. The hammer it is replacing was pretty good at that though. I THINK that is also a 'Stanley' but all identification marks have long since worn away. I have had that old one 44 years so it is time to retire it.The striking face is slightly convex, just as it should be. The diameter is far larger than I am used to though. It is almost twice the area of my old Stanley hammer. I can't see any advantage in having such a large diameter striking face. It will however be a disadvantage if you strike near the edge as that will cause the hammer to try to rotate in your hand. Also, spreading the weight out rather than concentrating it in the head reduces the rotational inertia slightly, again making it more prone to rotation. I doubt it will be a disadvantage very often. In case anyone was wondering, this 16 oz hammer actually weighs 24.75 oz. It is almost exactly 16 oz forward of the balance point which is roughly 2.75" from the centre of the striking face. The 2.75" end of the shaft therefore acts as part of the effective weight. The handling/balance in use is just right, fortuitously nearly identical to my 44 year old one.Memo to self: Update this review in 44 year's time.

Same as the Mac Tools One

These is the same as the mac tools hammer but it says stanely on it. The anti-vibe definitely do seem to reduce some shock, but it's not earth shattering. Also, oddly my tool said it was made in Mexico? Strange CCO, but all in all a good tool.

    Martillo en su uso eterno

    J.R. · 18 August 2024

Mi modelo de Stanley no pesa es y ideal para usos varios, es el de 16 no el de 20, el mango es firme de metal y por tanto más duradero que uno convencional, estoy contento con esta compra.
