These are my third set of digital calibers, the first 2 sets being cheap ones. For sure the cheap ones work and are fairly accurate but after a couple of years they die. The Mitutoyos are expensive but they ooze quality. Ground steel rather than plastic. Close the calipers, hold them up against a backlight and you can't see any gap between the blades due to misalignment (unlike the cheap ones). The action is incredibly smooth and slick, way better than cheap calibers which makes taking measurements so much easier. Incremental mode is fantastic, no more having to mentally take the difference between two measurements and the absolute encoding means no need to constantly rezero.We use an older set of 300mm Mitutoyos at work, no problems whatsoever over the 7 or so years we've had them.As with all calipers, check Youtube to see how to use them in all modes: outer diameter/length, inner/bore diameter/length, depth, step height. Calipers are more versatile than most people think.

Folks...There are two very good reasons that you will want a caliper from Mitutoyo1) You need accuracy, a long working life and knowing that you got the best money can buy, within reason.2) You love quality engineering and just looking at it gives you joy. Remember ye olde saying? : “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”.Now... here is a confession to you. I firmly fit in category (2). I only have need for a decent caliper very occasionally and if it is somewhat accurate?... great.So... now you know where i come from and why I decided to spend what for me was big money. As an analogy.... in my electronic work I have to use a solder sucker on occasion. Mine is made by the Engineer Company in Japan. That unit is a thing of beauty AND... it works flawlessly. But I could have bought a Knock off copy for a quarter of the price. But…. The “el cheapo” didn’t set my heart on fire, like the engineer unit does.OK back to Mitutoyo. As with all good things in life, our "friends" far away are not adverse in copying something and trying to sell it to you, pretending that you bought the original item. SO....BEWARE !!!Make sure that your hard earned money bought you a genuine Mitutoyo and not a fake one.I have enclosed a few photos of the real caliper here for you. If someone will sell you a Mitutoyo for less that about 100 pounds sterling... you are almost certainly looking at a fake.So… BEFORE you buy, visit the various YouTube video on the subject on how to spot a fake Mitutoyo. No… I am not going to re-gurtitate all the points here. But I will highlight a few.Mitutoyo will supply you with a genuine battery. Your battery will be a SR44SW, they are often made by Seiko Instruments. If you do not have a SR44, you are almost certainly looking a fake.The case itself… quality plastic AND VITALLY IMPORTANT ( see photo) the words Made in Japan should be visible embossed into the plastic. If they are not there ? You have a fake.Take a hard long look at the paper work. It should be smooth and straight and not crumbled up, pressed and crumbled by the case inserts.The certificate paper work must match the serial number on the OUTSIDE of the case. BTW.. only the very long Mitutoyo comes in a wooden case, just so you know.Folks.. there are many many more tell time signs that you have been had. Again….. check the YouTube video there are several good ones. Buy from a REPUTABLE supplier and most carefully check your newly bought unit upon arrival.Finally… you get what you pay for. That saying is as old as the hills but it holds true, today, as it will do forever.CONCLUSION: IF YOU WANT THE BREST ? After having many cheap digital calipers which frustratingly almost always never maintain a consistent measurement read, these are a breath of fresh air!The accuracy of the Mitutoyo set is second to none and it consistently comes back to 0.00mm on every closure of the jaws. There is just no beating the fact that if you need accuracy with measurements then you just need to have these in your kit.My only disappointment is I feel the storage case could have been a little bit more refined than the moulded hard plastic without any cushioning to the inside, but in the end, it's the tool itself that matters and this is far better than any other digital caliper I have used.

Was looking for some Digital Calipers and after some research decided the Mitutoyo ones to be the most reasonable and a good product. I was sceptical about this item via Bolo due to the mention of fake items. The price is t too bad if you want quality. I have YouTubed and I am 100% satisfied this item is not fake. The attached pictures will show you and feel free to compare to the fake items mentioned on the internet. The battery is an SR44SW which the genuine product comes with, although the description states LR44, which is incorrect. The serial numbers match the paperwork, the display is crystal clear, as are the instructions font, paper quality and general layout. The knurled locking nut at the top is smaller than the fake ones, another indication these are genuine. Although I’ve not used them yet, I’m satisfied that these are the bees knees and this is a genuine item and can’t wait to use them for motorcycle maintenance.

Deducted a star because there's no padding of any sort in the case. Maybe Mitutoyo calipers are robust enough to take a shaking but I'd rather I couldn't hear them rattling around in the case every time I moved it. Used the case from my dirt-cheap dial calipers that had a foam insertApart from that, they're incredibly fast and accurate.

I used to use this brand of calipers in engineering many moons ago (ex RAF gas turbine technician) and always found them to be good quality.I’m very pleased to say that years later upon purchasing these digital calipers that the quality has not diminished in the slightest.A very solid feel in the hand and supplied and a very good quality protective case.I’m sure these will last me a very long time indeed.Maybe even outlast me.

Mine just showed up from the courier, After doing all the checks necessary to ensure it is not a fake I can attest the ones sold directly by Bolo are the real McCoy.Everything about this digital caliper screams quality. It has zero deflection between the main jaws. The battery was NOT installed and is the Maxell SR44SW battery expected in this caliper All of the other checks -- case quality, caliper metal finish, breaking the sharpness of most edges, plastic parts quality, 0.0000 with full size digits in inch mode, QC certificate has a proper signature and is not washed out, etc...The caliper works as smooth as butter and measuring tolerances are within spec.Very happy with my purchase.

Kein Fake und einfach klasse!
Meine Sorge war, dass ich ein Fake bekomme.Verkauft und versendet durch Bolo ist bei mir ein Original angekommen.Das Teil macht echt Spaß.Präzise, super Bedienbar und die Verarbeitung ist 1a.Endlich brauch ich mich nicht mehr mit den analogen Messschiebern rumzuärgern und bin auch viel schneller beim Ablesen.Auch ein günstiger digitaler Messchieber war einfach nichts.Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung für diesen hier.Noch als kleiner Tipp:Ich hab mir aber direkt die SR44 Batterien von Duracell dazu bestellt.Es ist zwar eine Made in Japan Batterie dabei aber ich vertraue lieber auf Duracell was das Lagern und Auslaufen angeht.Da ich den Messschieber nicht täglich benutze ist mir der Auslaufschutz von Marken Herstellern wirklich wichtig.Hab bisher nur Noname oder enthaltene Batterien ausgelaufen gesehen.Bei deutschen Markenherstellern hab ich es bisher noch nicht erlebt selbst wenn die Batterien auch Jahre über dem Verfallsdatum waren.
