1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this rice at all costs!!

    D.G. · 20 January 2024

Terrible Rice!!!It is all damaged with so many broken grains, it is a complete con.Photo 1 shows the quantity of broken grains prior to washing and photo 2 shows after washing. It’s so damaged it doesn’t really hold up to the washing process all too well, it clearly degrades and damages the rice, further amplifying the damage and breaking the grains even more.Photo 1 clearly shows many broken grains to start with. This is a product of Pakistan which I would normally avoid based only on previous experiences.. but I went forth without being too overly hesitant because I believed due to the price differences that the equity was shifted a great great deal in my favour, it seemed like a deal almost too good to be true. But all along the equity was actually shifted in their favour the most all along, a total and dishonest con!!I will buy product of India next time, I trust I will get the correct equity then. It will likely be a fair higher cost but likely not be a con and a far better product I would imagine.I’ve never purchased anything good that came from Pakistan. This is just my own experience and not fact they may export things worth buying but I haven’t found one yet.Certain reputable brands will actually pre-sort their rice and sell broken grains bags separately, although I’m not sure on the percentages of broken grains in those bags as I’ve never tried them. I do feel it was wasted money though, but I will eat it anyway, I’m definitely looking forward to finding a better quality Basmati next time.in conclusion it is terrible quality, broken grains rice, passed off as ‘premium’ when in reality it should really be being packaged up and shipped to starving third world countries in Africa and sold for $3-4 a bag, it’s sad to see so much injustice in the world. If we can afford to pay more as rich nations (for better quality rice) then we should, and if we all bought responsibly it could go a long way to fixing some of the worlds problems.
