5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant fun
This game is an unsung hero. Think of this game like playing chess, where you are against a team of your friends or family, to escape their plan to catch you. They get to discuss strategies of moves and how they will restrict your movements, while you try to avoid their capture. It’s such fun and while each game may only last 30 mins (if you are lucky) every game is different and every outcome is different. Highly recommended for all ages and the more players the better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
What an amazing fun game of cat and mouse. As a Londoner I really appreciated the map and racing across the city. This is a great group game, we also played as a two player with extra pieces.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
The concept of this game is very clever, and you have to constantly think and be 2 steps ahead. There is a map of London with stops. Each stop is numbered. You have cops, detectives and Mr X. You have 22 moves to catch Mr X, using 3 modes of transport.Mr X is invisible but you get 5 sightings of him which help you to try and grab him.Fast paced, great mental stimulation, we really enjoyed this as a 2 player team. The pieces are of good quality, colourful and comes with instructions for junior players so a game for the whole family.... And it's good value for money.Similar concept to the game Ticket to Ride which we adore!Great strategy game if your bored with monopoly
4.0 out of 5 stars Good game, takes a bit of practice.
This was great value for money and the board and pieces are if good quality. It is quite a complex game to play bit I think after multiple times the playing of it would get easier.
5.0 out of 5 stars a game bridging generations
My children used to play this game long ago and my grandchildren discovered it last summer. They liked the strategy and trip in central London.Family game for players between 8 and 80 years.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gladly I was proved wrong and he was able to grasp the concept easily. We have not progressed beyond the 'beginners' game ...
I purchased this board game as a gift for a very young 9 year old boy. He had seen it advertised on television and was very excited to receive it. The game arrived on time and was well packaged. The idea behind the game is a very simple one, however I thought it may be too difficult for this particular 9 year old. Gladly I was proved wrong and he was able to grasp the concept easily. We have not progressed beyond the 'beginners' game play as yet but we have played a number of times with 3, 4 and 5 people varying in ages between 6 and 46, all have enjoyed the game. A brief explanation of the game is that one player (Mr X) has to travel around London using various modes of transport to evade capture by the other players who although each have their own playing piece can collaborate and work together to capture Mr X. An enjoyable game.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cops and Robbers Fun
We bought this as a gift my in-laws last Christmas. We enjoy playing board games together and had previously gifted them Ticket to Ride, so knew they would enjoy the style of game.It took quite a long time to get to grips with the instructions compared to other strategy games we have played, however once we understood the rules we were hooked! The game requires players to split into "police" and "Mr X" with the police having the aim of catching Mr X, and Mr X having the aim of evading the police. Players navigate the London travel system, by walking or getting on the bus or tube. Since transport costs money, players have a finite distance they can travel each turn, and a finite number of times they can travel by tube or bus. When we started playing, the player who was Mr X felt a little ganged up on, but after a few games, we realised that Mr X has the upper hand (more moves on public transport and their position is secret whereas the police are shown on the board) so found it was just as fun to play on your own against the rest of the players. Also, Mr X gets to wear a silly looking visor so that the police can't see him or her looking at the game board when making a move. This is a really fun game to play but has a learning curve so it wouldn't suit those with a short attention span.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, tense and strategic!
I actually love this game. I played it at my brothers and then bought it for two different groups of friends. Its really fun, can be played with 2 as easily as with more players (most games are rubbish when played with just 2 people!) and the price is great for what you get! Can play over and over again as it's different every time, and depending on what role you play brings a different atmosphere to the gameplay.
