I have been shaving for around 40 years, and still haven't found a decent tool for shaving yet, until now...Electric razors of all kinds, shaving foam and expensive disposable razors, you name it, I've tried it and still wasn't happy with what I was using. So I tried a double edged razor and a decent make of shaving cream with a brush and cup, and thought I was close to where I wanted to be, but the shave was a bit harsh and aggressive.Then I discovered the Muhle closed comb razor, and it was like a light bulb moment. Sharp enough to do the job, but not too aggressive to cause razor burn or slice chunks out of my face. And if you get this spare head, it will probably fit onto your existing screw on handle (if you have one).My next purchase will be the Muhle R89 grande which is the razor that this spare head comes from, as it has the larger longer handle, which will suit my style of shaving. Get one for yourself and see how you get on with it. You won't be disappointed...

Bought to replace a Merkur 20C head which had chipped up and not only does it fit pefectly but performs even better than the original.Used in conjunction with a good quality soap/cream this razor, not eraser, head peforms a tad more agressive than the former comb it's replacing but with the upside of a much closer shave.Would say maybe 5-6 on the agressive scale which is perfect for me.Still going strong as of November 2020 and still looks in perfect nick, pun intended.5/5 Would buy again.

I have been a wet shaver all of my life using off the shelf cartridge razors (electric razors shred my face). I also suffer with sensitive skin. I purchased this R89 head to go on a Braveheart stainless steel handle. It fits beautifully and seldom do I ever cut myself with this head. Coupled with the handle that I chose it has a nice weight to it and is eaisily assembled and cleaned. I didn't want a very aggressive safety razor as my first one, this has been the right choice. I would definitely recommend.

Gives a lovely smooth, close shave. The head profile makes this very easy and safe to use so ideal for beginners and experienced users alike. Excellent build quality. I've put this on a Parker 98r barber pole handle as a I dropped and broke the original head which fits perfectly. Recommended.

Got a Muhle R41 open comb for Christmas and spent the next few days looking like I’d been in a road accident as it sliced my face off. What sort of face could withstand one of these I’ll never know. Now I know just what the difference is between open and closed comb and between the R41 and R89. Duh..

Replacement for the head on my Edwin Jagger DE89L razor (dropped the razor broke the screw thread),both Muhle and Edwin Jagger seem to use the same head.It's a very mild shave for anyone with sensitive skin (Me),it's worth getting in case you need a spare head.
