L-Tryprophan has been shown to reduce stress-related behaviour and anxiety in cats. L Theanine increases GABA neurotransmitter production which is the main neurotransmitter associated with a relaxed state, increases the concentration of serotonin in the stratum, hippocampus and hypothalmus. Clinical trials have shown that L-theanine is effective in reducing fearful behaviour and its use for treating anxiety related behaviour is supported.

I don't know how one can answer as to flavour, as I don't take them lol, but we sprinkle the contents of the capsule on to their cat food (we have 2 cats, well 1 cat and 1 Ninja lol 🐱👤), and they take it, which is far better than the stress it would be to force them take as a pill, our older cat I have known from birth (a mates cat was her mother), and at 8 weeks she was homed to a very smart dressed man, so all the appearances of being able to care for her, how wrong that was, he brought her back 1 week later (at least they admitted it rather than the unthinkable), and said they didn't know how to care for her, but she was not the same cat, I wish I knew what they did to her, but it has left a lifelong impression on her, she is 8 now (human years).Now even after 8 years, if you stand up to fast, she is upstairs and under the wardrobe like an exocet missile, if you look out of the window to long she is on high alert, voices, knocking, anything can set her off, the Ninja on the other hand was the complete opposite, a lot smaller, but wasn't fazed by anything, she has shredded 1 cat tower\scratch pole, and is doing the same to a 2nd tower now, and she dominates the older cat, but she had cystitis when @ 1 year old, and it took around 1 year on med's, then we stopped the med's when she seemed OK again, and that lasted for 5 years approx, but then we had the start of some intensive construction start next door, and we couldn't believe that it not only bothered her, it brought her cystitis back again.The vet said it was brought on by stress due to the works next door, so we started her on med's again, now the couple were absolutely fantastic and paid for her med's, they didn't even hesitate offering instantly, but we also had 2 vet visits which was near £300 as well as the med's, but anyway, as it was identified as stress causing it, I started looking around for something that covered both sides of the problem, and I came across this item, and figured it would be better, more so with the description\write up on it, on one hand it was looking good, it has seriously helped the older cat, but the Ninja not so much, she flipped so far in character, it didn't quite give her enough to manage on (this is no reflection on this pill), it definitely helped.But I had to add a further med to complement this in the short term (just a week or two at a go), and the 2 together have got her stable and without any complications, but even so, she is still right on edge when some heavy drilling etc will still spook her, but no cystitis, so we used the other med to compliment this when she is scared, but it's only for short term use (a boost) to get her back in control a bit more, and when she is we only give her this one, and she is fine again.Now this definitely works, and well at that, but if your cat is that bad, you may find you need to complement this med with another (I don't know if your allowed to mention other item), but I just used a couple of drips (it's in liquid form, with an eye dropper with it) to her food and she is happy again, but this long term is a very good way to go, far kinder than other heavily medicated alternatives reading up on it, and given the cost of all the other similar kind of med is way much more to pay for, it can't hurt to try this, and as I said the building works is extensive, and it is 6 months of work, so a much great an effect from most would have to face, I would not hesitate to use this or mention it to others, it could save you a fortune, it certainly has for us.

These came 3 days ago. My cat has been diagnosed with Cystitis (£300 worth of vet bills later). So her wee had blood in it and she was having frequent accidents all over the house (mainly the sofa, the floor and my beanbag). She would have an accident every half hour or so. The vet said I need to put her on prescribed urinary care food. I ordered the food but it wouldn't get here for another week so ordered these off prime in the mean time due to all the good reviews.They arrived on Thursday. I gave her her first one Thursday night. Friday she only had one accident all day. She had her second one Friday night. Over the whole of Friday night and Saturday she hasn't had a single accident, and her wee now is clear again (no blood). Shes also not weeing as frequently and seems back to her normal self! Playing with us, she's not crying anymore. These are AMAZING. I would recommend them to anybody who is having urine troubles with their cat. I'm going to keep her on these along with the prescribed food that comes (a lot of the ingredients are the same in both) but she's already doing amazing. I reckon I won't even need the urinary care food if I kept her on these.For those wondering, they come in capsules (photo attached) and you open the capsules and pour the powder into your cats wet food. I mash it all in with a fork so the yellow colour can't be seen by my cat and she eats it all up no problem. On the bottle it says if your cat is 3kg or under to take 1 a day for 2 weeks then one every other day after this. If your cat is over 3kg for them to take 2 a day for two weeks then 1 a day after 2 weeks.100% value for money and I'll definitely be buying these again in the future to keep her urinary tract healthy :)

UPDATE - These are no longer bright yellow and they seem to be flavoured differently. I no longer have any problems sprinkling in food. That said, i do use a food with gravy as opposed to jelly. I sprinkle direct into the bowl with a couple of teaspoons of water, mix, add food, mix and serve. They tend to not notice it. On jelly there's obviously a grainy texture and it doesnt get fully eaten.I have a cat who has ongoing battles with cystitis and uti's. My vet had previously prescribed Cystophan as well as Kalms. Repeat purchases from the vet were becoming expensive and so I thought I would look online. I stumbled across this while looking for Cystophan and noted the ingredients were the same, but also had the calming ingredients. Consequently, much cheaper so I thought I would give them a go. I am pleased to say that they most certainly help if you can get your cat to take them. They are huge (like Cystophan) and not designed for swallowing. They are suggested as a sprinkle on, on the cats food. Good luck with that. I have had many battles with various cats, trying to then coax them into eating said food and lost! I now open the capsules and mix with a little boiled water. Once cool, I syringe or pippette the mixture up before assisting my cat in swallowing it. These are liver flavour, an unusual choice and bright yellow. Unfortunately, although I get most of it down the back of the throat, some remains and is in the mouth. My cat will shake her head and spray the yellowness. Unfortunately it doesn't come out in the wash, so I would advise adapting methods suitable for your pet to avoid this. I have no idea if the yellow is a natural colour or added, but is very bright. However, the product has definitely helped.
