5.0 out of 5 stars LIGHT TOO BRIGHT all the rest great

    C.F. · 16 September 2024

I had to switch the light out as it would startle the fish! It is incredibly bright. So I got a great alternative with a dimmer and colour changing etc.The filter is good (not the best and Fluval one was eventually bought)The tank is great with a lid that makes the whole thing look smart.

    Small but good

4.0 out of 5 stars A good starter tank but not without some small issues!

    P. · 18 September 2017

I am overall really pleased with this aquarium, but there are some small things that I wish I had known before buying it!- The kit I received consisted of a - 10 US gallon (37.8 Litre) tank, led light and a filter.- The Filter I was sent was not the one advertised in the description! I actually received the Marina i110 Internal Filter that sticks to the inside of the tank with suction cups and has a waterfall effect, this came with 1 filter cartridge.- The filter is not completely silent and does give off a low constant hum. If you're wanting this tank for a bedroom - please take this in to consideration. (I later changed this filter for a internal sponge box filter - so I could have an air pump situated outside my bedroom, making the tank virtually silent.)- You need to leave a space at the top of the tank for the filters waterfall feature, so it's tricky to have the water filled right to the top of the tank without it sticking out above the top of the tank. You might think with all the things I listed above that I'm unhappy with this aquarium kit, however I actually really like it. It's well made and looks amazing all lit up at night, the LED is strong enough to give off a good even light and I've had strong constant plant growth since setting the tank up. I'd say that this is a perfect size starter tank and once It's all set up with substrate, plants and decorations it's hard not to be impressed with how nice it looks!

    5.0 out of 5 stars +coldwater aquarium

    W.B. · 3 May 2020

Had a small tank. This is an excellent medium sized tank reasonably priced, considering that it comes with light fittings and filter. took no time to setup as a cold water aquarium. an excellent tank for beginners or someone looking for a bigger tank without it being too large

1.0 out of 5 stars Noisy pump, water evaporates quickly

    p. · 4 November 2021

This aquarium some with a pump and and external filter that hangs off the back and flows in to the talk like a waterfall. Sounds lovely but is a design flaw. The pump tends to rattle the rear mounted filter, making it noisy, it kept our son awake as its in his bedroom. The replacement filters for the pump keep you buying from Marina and are not a sustainable product. Finally, as there are large openings in the hood for the rear mounted filter, water evaporates really quickly, which is quite annoying.I have now purchased a little internal filter from Internet which runs silently. I’m trying to find an appropriate condensation tray but the size of the tank is non standard. All in all, wish I had just bought a normal tank with hood, would have been much less hassle.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed

    S. · 13 January 2020

Disappointed as comes with EU plugs! Which is not stated or I would of chose a different tank as now instead of being able to set it up straight away I have to wait until I have purchased not 1 but 2 adapters. I was looking forward to setting it up straight away as i have been looking for a new tank for a while. Plus I am wary of having a set up with adapters as the filter will obviously be on constant. All in all I have been put off this tank now before I've even set it up. Wish I'd of known before I ordered it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best price I found for such an aquarium

    Z. · 17 December 2023

Very nice aquarium with low price.

    Sembra tutto ok

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Ho voluto aspettare un pò di tempo prima di recensire, per essere sicura di quello che avrei scritto.

It's a nice starter tank and the price was right.

    E.A. · 16 February 2025

The media could not be loaded. It's a nice 5 gallon starter tank. I measured the actual dimensions as 16 in. Wide x 10 in. High x 8 in. Deep. It would fit nicely on a desk or small cabinet. It arrived safely, although there was no extra packaging outside of the product packaging.I'm happy it came with starter water conditioner and bacteria culture, although I had ordered my own because these samples won't last beyond a couple water changes. The food sample is a regular bottle size, which is nice. The stick on thermometer is crap, and I removed it and will buy a better one that is easier to read.I like the light and hood lid. Unfortunately the lid isn't hinged at the back, but I will use the feeding hole so not need to lift the lid often. Also the lid will prevent water evaporation and keep my betta from jumping out.The filter it came with is pretty silent, with only a low humming noise. Not sure I like the motor itself being inside the water of the aquarium due to these vibrations, but there is a foam cover to the start of intake tube to prevent small fish getting sucked up. Compared to the aquarium filters at my local pet store, this filter is silent. To further reduce any vibrations from the motor, I greased the impeller shaft with a little vaseline, and ensured the intake tube itself was tightly setup. At the contact point of the intake tube to the hang on unit I added some aquarium foam to prevent reverberation. At the contact point between the water output spout and tank edge, I used a silicone ear plug squised down to hold the HOB to the edge of the tank, which also helps to keep it from shifting.I modified the filter media with ceramic bio rings and aquarium sponges. Those filter cartridges are pretty pathetic and wasteful.I used Feltac pads stacked on each other to level the HOB housing unit to the back of the tank, instead of the little plastic circle. This also dampens any vibrations being sent to the back glass panel from the motor inside the tank.It came in one piece. The price was right. It runs pretty silent. The glass is clear. And it came with everything you need to set up your aquarium. I'm overall happy.Edit: the tank, filter and light is still working great. I wanted to update something that I forgot to mention before. The LED light included is pretty bright, and there is no dimmer switch included. Luckily I found one online specifically made for aquarium lights. Just if you're looking to be able to control the light level or color, this tank doesn't offer that.

    Perfect 10 gallon tank!

    M.B. · 1 October 2023

I did a lot of research before deciding on this 10 gallon Marina tank. It was the tank kit that consistently showed up on internet reviews as one of the top tanks, especially for beginners. The filter is excellent and very quiet, the lighting is beautiful, and it's spacious digs for my son's Betta fish!I love that it came with small bottles of both the "Fluval Cycle biological enhancer" and the "Fluval chlorine/water purifier." My son had of course, against my advice, ran out and bought the betta fish before the tank was even set up. I was nervous because the tank had not yet been "cycled," meaning that it had not been filled with water, had the filter running, and had the chance to cycle to develop good bacteria on it's own, which typically takes about 4-6 weeks. Because this kit came with a bottle of the "Fluval Cycle biological enhancer," I was able to add the Betta fish the same day as setting up the tank (which is not recommended if you can help it, but it luckily worked out ok in this instance). I also used Poland Spring water to fill the tank instead of my tap water, along with of course adding the recommended doses from the bottles of the provided Fluval chlorine purifier and biological enhancer. The filter on this tank is excellent and I like that it has 3 separate cartridges, so you can change one every few months (never change them all at once or it will throw off the cycling of your tank). Only changing one filter at a time maintains the good bacteria growing on the other filters in the tank. There are also some youtube videos available on how to modify/replace the filter cartridges with other "media" so they don't need to be changed regularly, which I have already started doing. It's also better for the long term cycling of the tank to not get rid of cartridges on a regular basis (don't do it every 2-4 weeks like the directions say!), since there is so much good bacteria on the cartridges which helps the tank stay healthy, and you don't want to throw that away.I purchased a Eheim heater separately, which is a nice fit in this tank. I also purchased two thermometers separately, one digital one and one traditional one, and put them on opposite sides of the tank. Also, really important, make sure that you have a good place to put this tank, because once it has water in it, it is SUPER heavy, over 100 pounds! I had not thought of this until a few days before the tank arrived, so I ran out and purchased a fish tank stand at a local pet store which could support the weight. You don't want to risk just putting it on a regular piece of furniture because of how incredibly heavy it is once it is filled with water. One negative is that the lid does not have a hinge on it, it comes completely off when opening it all the way. It's a minor inconvenience as we mostly use the open feeding hole in the top right corner to feed our betta.Overall an excellent tank kit!! It's been over a month now, and our betta is happy and healthy and we are thrilled with our purchase!
