5.0 out of 5 stars Great product but pricey
I have been lactose intolerant for 25 years and have used lactase containing products to manage my symptoms for about the last 5 years. I used to buy softgel capsules from a well-known high street retailer but they made some changes to their formulation and particularly in hot weather I found the capsules would become sticky. I also had a couple of batches that went rancid quickly, so with the pandemic changing my shopping habits so I no longer shop on the high street I took the opportunity to try these Lactojoy tablets.THEY ARE FANTASTIC!The Lactojoy tablets are tiny white tablets with a small cow embossed on them. They were pricey, but I trusted the other reviews and decided to give them a shot. They are stronger per tablet than the softgels I am used to, so I usually only take one tablet whereas with softgels I took two. I have taken up to 3 or 4 of these tablets at a time with meals I know I struggle to digest. They have worked exceptionally well, to the point where as long as I remember to take them, I can forget about eating a lactose-containing meal after I have eaten it!The main drawbacks are the cost, and the size of the tablet which makes them impractical to split. To minimise cost I bought a refill pack, and if I leave the house I transfer a few tablets to a small tin I already own.
5.0 out of 5 stars Effective Relief for Lactose Intolerance - LactoJoy Lactase Tablets are a Game Changer!
LactoJoy Lactase Tablets have been a true lifesaver for me as a lactose intolerant individual. These tablets effectively prevent the unpleasant symptoms of lactose intolerance, allowing me to enjoy dairy products without being very sick. The high-strength dosage provides the right amount of lactase enzyme for effective digestion of lactose, and the flexibility to adjust the dosage is a major plus. Made with high-quality ingredients and free from artificial additives, these tablets are easy to carry in their compact, stylish packaging. Although slightly more expensive than other options, the effectiveness and quality of LactoJoy Lactase Tablets make them well worth the investment for anyone dealing with lactose intolerance! Can't recommend highly enough!
5.0 out of 5 stars You will probably need more than one tablet for most situations.
Simply put these are very good. They are also very expensive. In recent years lactose tolerance has crept up on me ( I am 60+ now) and initially I was buying regular lactase tablets on Bolo/Ebay. They seemed to be largely ineffective and I wondered if the whole lactase tablets thing was nonsense. One day I spotted "lactojoy" (terrible name) and found them to work very well. All lactose sufferers will be different but a few things that i have learnt go like this. 1) Use Arla milk/cream/butter/yoghurt etc. With lactase already in these products it saves on expensive tablets. 2) When taking these tablets you will probably need several . The whey powder in fish and chip batter is a killer but about 7x tablets more or less "holds things together". A few chocolates at christmas demanded about 4x tablets for 3x "Heroes" etc. In short these are the best that you can get, you will have to experiment with the number of tablets you require for any situation. The excessive packaging is my principal complaint.
4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job !!
I've tried other tablets but they are very chalky and have a horrible after taste. These tables have a bit more crunch to them and are easy to chew, no chalky taste or horrible after taste.I actually bought the tin set version first and then bought this bag to fill the tin up (works out cheaper).I do think they are overpriced BUT they work and, as i said, they don't leave a horrible taste.
5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT - DOES THE JOB! (Amazing if you can't swallow tablets!)
I used to have them soft capsule lactase tablets however I gag way too easily (lol) so can't swallow them or I'll probably just choke to death. I'd normally chew through the capsule and just swallow everything but the taste wasn't too nice. These are perfect. They're stronger per tablet. There's a crease in the tablet to split it in 2, I only have half whenever I'm having dairy and the half is still a higher FCC than the soft capsule tablets.I've bought the smaller refill tin version a couple of times and just fill them up with this product and keep a tin in the kitchen + one in my bag so I always have them wherever I am!
5.0 out of 5 stars Won't work for everyone but when they do work...wow
I was as sure as I could be that I had a lactose intolerance not milk or dairy. These won't work for a milk or dairy intolerance and I wouldn't recommend for allergies. These are the strongest I have found both abroad and in the UK (these are a German brand) and I've tried a few types and strengths and release levels. The lower strengths are false economy if you need a higher dose these are the best. Some brands also have a release level such as slow release, fast release and all day coverage. These types made no difference for me personally. It took me some trial and error to get the dosage and timing of taking these ones and sometimes they just don't quite do it still despite taking them as I have on a different occasion for the same meal. For me with a standard pizza type meal or take away curry I'd need to take them before, during and after to get proper coverage. Some lactose food I just still can't eat or drink. I can't drink regular milk even with these tablets and with regular cheese I can usually only have the smallest taste with a good dose of tablets (I was a big cheese eater before my intolerance kicked in and these let me have just a taste of special cheese say at Christmas). It will all just depend on your level of intolerance. If it feels like they didn't work first time I'd say try staggering taking them, leave longer or shorter before the food and try a small dose during and/or after the food. My intolerance is pretty bad I'd say but these help. I have also from time to time used them when the symptoms kick in and although it doesn't stop the reaction 100% is does take some of the nausea away within about 20 mins. These really have changed how I can eat and feel so much more confident if out for a meal. Good luck!
