    I recently bought this 2-pack of heavy-duty rat traps to tackle a rat problem in my kitchen, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well they worked. I cannot post the picture of the dead rat for obvious reasons as some people may find this distressing with the blood.. but they work trust meSetting them up was straightforward. I smeared a small amount of peanut butter on the bait area, as I heard it works wonders for attracting rats. Within just a few hours, the traps had done their job.The construction of these traps feels solid and durable, which gave me confidence they would work effectively. The trigger mechanism is sensitive enough to catch even the lightest of touches, but not so sensitive that it goes off without cause. When the rat went for the peanut butter, the trap snapped shut with enough force to kill it instantly. I appreciate that it’s a humane solution, avoiding any prolonged suffering.Cleanup was easy, though I did use gloves just to be safe. The trap was easy to reset for any future use, but fortunately, I haven’t had to use them again since the two rats that were causing havoc are gone for good.Overall, these rat traps are incredibly effective, simple to use, and reasonably priced. If you’re dealing with a similar problem, I’d highly recommend giving these a try.

    Effective but an absolutely horrifying experience - Wife shocked & in tears. Children traumatised. Personally in need of PTSD support.A few weeks ago my wife encountered a huge black rat in our bin shed, it had set up a comfy nest from waste tissue paper while feasting on our leftovers for a few days.I had never seen one so close. Obviously we try to keep our premises and sheds free of such unwelcome guests. So the neighbour advised us to buy a rat trap.After a good clean up and disinfection exercise we placed one of these traps. We tried several types of bait to lure the rat; jelly beans, left-over caviar and popcorn. But in the end it was a piece of gruyere cheese that seemed to have attracted the rat’s interest. It took a few days and we forgot about the trap. Until one night our young daughter produced a loud scream when she deposed a garbage bag in the shed. The rat, or one of his friends, got caught by the trap. It must have perished overnight. And it was quite a horrible, sad sight. I didn’t want to bother about the trap and disentangling the remains of the poor rat, so I threw both the rat and the trap in the bin.The trap is itself is very traditional, made from plastic and metal but quite sturdy and durable.It snaps with good power, so I had to tell the children to be careful. It also comes with an elaborate instruction sheet.Good luck with it. It's a good trap but my conscience is nagging.

    The traps snap at the slightest touch -- it feels like a rat would only need to carefully poke them to safely trigger them without getting harmed. But they did their job eventually, so no real complaints.

    I received these traps a few hours ago 13/7/24, not reading the details thoroughly I expected some bait to come with the traps. (my own fault). I set the traps last night after one going off and catching the side of my thumb (ouch that hurt). Then I managed to set both and put on my kitchen floor as the rats have come in under my cooker. I have no children or pets so not an issue out in the open. Not having any bait I sprinkled a little bird seed around the traps to entice them and also in the bait pot on the traps. This morning I woke up and discovered the traps had gone off in the night and caught the biggest rat. I know there is at least another rat so I shall be setting them again tonight. I highly recommend these traps, very strong and sturdy and gets the job done. Further update a few days later I caught a second smaller rat in the trap.

    These are all well and good for catching rats.But rats know what they are and what they do, to expect a rat to lovingly look for food where it will be killed, is a bit of a false economy.The most effective way to get rid of rats in your home is to buy a rat catcher ( a cat)

    Day One - Trap #1 sprung, cheese gone, nothing captured. Trap #2 undisturbed.Day Two - Trap #1 & #2 sprung, cheese gone, nothing captured!I've now screwed the traps down onto a block of wood in case having them loose is the issue...what will Day Three bring? I feel the ratties are too clever or have learnt to use tools to spring the traps so they can snack! So far 1 star for obvious reasons as I don't need to catch air and the rats have had more cheese than me so far this weekend!

    D'après les commentaires, les pièges devaient être fort efficaces. Or, le rat qui se cache dans la remise du jardin a déclenché trois fois le mécanisme sans se faire prendre. La troisième fois, il a même réussi à goûter un peu du beurre de cacahuètes mis comme appât. Article décevant donc.Commentaire supplémentaire deux jours après le premier : La quatrième tentative a été la bonne. Mais il a fallu des deux pièges pour attraper le rat.
