5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sushi rice.
Excellent value for money. Very fluffy rice. Rinse thoroughly, leave stand for half hr to an hr in cold water then cook it in a rice cooker. Excellent for onigiri or just plain.
5.0 out of 5 stars nice rice
This rice is so good, cooking well
4.0 out of 5 stars For fancy rice, this scores an 'okay'
My Taiwanese wife and I like good rice. With shipping costs so high at the moment, it's difficult to find decent rice at a reasonable price. I get a bit frustrated with these attempts to make their rice look Japanese. Sure it's a Japanese rice variety, but it's grown in Thailand. Sticking it in a fancy bag and writing 'super premium' on it does not make it high quality Japanese rice. And this isn't. It's okay. It's still streets ahead of British supermarket rice and the boil-in-the-bag variety, but it's not a patch on actually-grown-in-Japan Japanese rice. The price is okay, compared to other rices at the moment, but it's just not impressive. My wife judged it to be "the kind of rice you'd expect in a Chinese restaurant in the UK." And I have to agree with that. It's fine, but it won't impress you.
5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty rice, strange scent
A really good rice! Relatively consistent grains, almost no darker grains showing spoilage, really happy with this given the price. It does have an odd, corn like smell however.
5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you for bring the heavy item to my door.
This is good for Japanese cuisine.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value everyday rice
Our family used to buy Toyama Koshihikari rice. I am pleasantly surprised that this is not a bad alternative given it costs about half the price of Toyama Koshihikari. It is however produced in Thailand not Japan. I am happy to use it as an everyday rice for the family going forward. Haven't said that, the flavour and texture of rice depends a lot on its freshness so maybe I am lucky with this order. Additionally I think Toyama Koshihikari will be able to be more consistent with the quality given its long established brand.
4.0 out of 5 stars At Present my Favourite Rice
Have bought this for a little while and it's a good flavourful short grain rice that I use for everyday meals although as nice and sticky would definitely work as a Sushi rice as advertised, it's just it does perfectly for a nice sticky rice with most cuisines. It did used to be significantly better priced and that's what kept it from a top star review, will I be buying again, definitely as it's still very good even with the price increase and on Subscribe and Save you can save a little extra. Overall a good quality rice at a reasonable price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
I already bought this couple of times when the price is lower than similar products. I can't make sushi , but eating with curry, stir-fry, natto and furikake is alright.
