Such a great toy! All the fun and ingenuity of the original, but compact and slightly easier for younger kids.Got it for my boy when he was just four, and he's only just really getting into it now he's nearly five.But yeah it's an awesome thing to chuck in your bag and get out at a restaurant when he's getting bored and is obviously way better than an iPad!Easy enough to use with any old paper too so you don't have to buy more of the specific paper pad you get with it. All clicks together nicely and the parts, paper and pens all fit inside. Genius

Do not hesitate to buy this for children of any age that struggle: with sitting down, with focusing, with regulating their emotions, with processing sensory information, or with developing fine motor skills. It says 3+ but I've seen 2.5 year old patients show interest and even spontaneously sit to engage with this. I also watched developmentally disabled teens show great interest and calm down visibly by engaging with this. As a doctor, I can tell why this works for kids with these struggles as I watch them engage. It keeps their hands and eyes moving/roaming but their ears free to listen and their bodies free to settle into safety in a sensory rich environment. Please do not hesitate to buy this for any child or teen who fit the needs I described as it's worth a try, very easy to use, and quite difficult to break or ruin.In contrast, the regular spirograph is even better for meeting the needs I described above, but it is often too difficult to engage in for those with disabilities. If you have a kid who finds this boring and has decent motor skills, try the regular spirograph instead.
Parfait et transportable partout
Tout de suite adopté. Offert à une petite de tout juste 3 ans, qui voulait tout le temps utiliser la version Spirograph Cyclex des ainés, mais avec tout de même quelques difficultés à l'utilisation. Après un petit temps d'adaptation au fonctionnement, c'est un réel plaisir et ce, même pour les plus grands. Le kit est fourni avec les explications et les dessins formés par chaque accessoire, sans oublié ce qui a fait mouche : les modèles d'animaux, de fleurs... à créer grâce au spirographe. De plus, la taille de cette petite mallette transportable est tout à fait adaptée aux petites mains et permet de l'emporter partout (en voiture, dans la salle d'attente chez le médecin...)Pour information la taille des feuilles à utiliser n'est pas un vrai A5, mais bon ce n'est pas catastrophique.Le bémol, je dirai tout de même le prix.Malgré ce dernier point, achat recommandé !
