My Daughter has wanted one of these for some time, but the previous iterations covered the nose which she did not get on with, she is so much happier with this. She is currently practicing for her grade 7 exam and is finding she is able to practice more often and says she goes for it more as it feels safer to do so, great product thank you.

The idea that you can sing your heart out without everyone including next door neighbors hearing all the fine details of an untrained voice is appealing. My first impression: It exercises and makes one conscious of breathing. Breathing is made rather more difficult so running out of breath is a real danger but for practice purposes not an issue. The main point is that every room has acoustic properties. With the Beltbox you are hearing your voice as if you are in a studio ie without being coloured by the acoustic properties of a room without acoustic treatment. In other words the feedback you get on your voice when using the Beltbox is very useful. I the kitchen with no soft furnishings no way would I have let rip some of the higher octave vocals that I was able to practice easily with this gizmo,

As an opera singer with a big voice, I'm totally satisfied if I just think of all the vocalisations I can do without being heard by my neighbours. The only problem is when it comes to articulating words, as based on how you move your mouth, the mask doesn't completely stick to your face, so you can hear the voice a little bit louder, but probably the neighbours won't hear that either. The strap is completely useless, so you will have to constantly press the mask to your face with a hand.

I bought this for my husband as he likes signing while having his headphones on. He has a deep bass voice. Unfortunately beltbox did not work for him. First it was difficult to fit properly. If strapped tight, he could not breath normally. When he was able to place beltbox such that it fit comfortably, the effect was not much different than without beltbox. His voice got a different tone but the volume remained the same... It might work for other types of voices and/or if it fits better to the face...

wish I bought this thing earlier, it is perfect! When training an issue I have is that I get vocal strain, and I've realised this because I'm conscious about not being too loud to disturb my housemates, this introduces tension and strain, I put a microphone outside my room and recorded whilst I practiced with the beltbox, and you could hear me, but far faaaaar quieter, very muffled, and that's right outside the door... So I know they can't have anything from their rooms. So now I can practice freely without having to worry. Tension gone.

Really badly made, not user friendly, not much of a voice dampener. Not breathable at all. Makes you look like bane from Batman and not in a cool way. Foam rips easily if you have a head larger than a child, it literally ripped as soon as I tried it on. Straps are useless, unless you like being strangled whilst singing. Need I say more? A pillow from ikea would work better and it’d be £50 cheaper! Keep away!

I use it regularly. Definitely improves any vocal performance. Good for public speakers or singers, actors. Anything where you would need to build your voice. I wish it extened a little more to practice tongue placements. Other than that, very useful tool! Very pleased.

I am in love with this product. I travel a lot right now, which means hotels, flights, airports, cabs, lifts, restaurants, and other public places where singing out a tune wouldn't necessarily be appropriate. This is a gamechanger. It allows me to sing, warm up, and destress anytime, anywhere.

Si estas esperando que no se escuche absolutamente nada, entonces no entendiste la función de la máscara. Es un atenuador del sonido y con ella puedes vocalizar sin restricciones en tu casa. Vale la pena a pesar del precio que creo es un poco excesivo.
Works just as expected.
It muffles the voice quite a lot and isn’t restrictive. You can still hear it some but I can sing fully out without it being super disturbing.
This will revolutionize my singing practice
All my life I wanted to be a singer, but I have a serious psychological mental block about making noise. I genuinely don't know where it came from, but for literally my entire life, I've hated the idea of being loud which, unfortunately, extends to singing. I made some headway against it when I picked up the saxophone, which there's just no way to play quietly, but I still was absolutely struggling to put any power behind my voice.Before I got my Beltbox, I would struggle to hit notes in my chest voice range because I just wasn't giving myself enough breath support, so the note would get choked off before it could come out, and my head voice range extended to a strained A5 and a passable F 4.Almost immediately after I started practicing with the beltbox, because I could no longer hear myself as clearly (and the psychological notion that, neither could anyone else), I was literally instantly able to hit E5. I have never sung that high in my life, and could not believe my tuner. I had to go to my piano, play the note, and sing it to confirm.Some caveats: yes, it is difficult to breathe while wearing this thing. You may want to either hold it in your hand, or keep a hand free to move it when you breathe in otherwise, you'll start to open your mouth horizontally really wide to break the seal and inhale that way which could become a bad habit if you're not conscious of it.If you correct yourself during non beltbox practice this shouldn't be too much of an issue though.One of the criticisms I've seen online, especially on Reddit, is that it's "just a $50 pillow". Two problems with that argument though. One, a pillow ain't portable. You're not going to shove a pillow in your purse or day bag. Two, you can't strap a pillow to your face, if you want to actually see where you're going anyway. This is excellent for quiet practice while multitasking, and it honestly just looks like a very unique face mask in the post-pandemic world we live in.I'd rather someone think I'm just wearing a unique face mask while I strengthen my voice and breath control, than to hear the awful noises I'm going to be making into this thing (from the next room/next door, anyway. If someone's in the same room they are goiing to hear you. That's just how physics works).Now if you'll excuse me, I have some singing practice to get back to!
