I was away recently and where I stayed had one of these machines in the kitchen. We used this couple of times to make toasties and I was so impressed that I came home immediately and bought one for myself.Changing the plates is easy and they lock firmly in place so no danger of burning yourself. They clean up really well and they toast your sandwich perfectly and very quickly.I only buy bakery bought bread which is quite thick but that isn’t a problem for this little machine. If your bread is too big and doesn’t fit the bread plates just use the panini ones and it still makes a perfect toastie.

We bought this to replace our separate waffle maker and sandwich maker. It works well and the panini function is great - gives you more options on sandwich size and bread. Simple but good.

I had a good craving for waffles and tired of having to pay the shops for some. I bought this of Bolo and other than the first one being damaged, they replaced it and the 2nd one works like a charm, these are my second set of waffles. Overflow it with a thick mix and set the heat line to green until golden brown, then lift the waffles straight out. It's a worth while buy for me.

On receiving this item, I was very happy with it. I was going through my seasonal toastie phase and had maybe a week of toasties that were perfect. Made paninis twice, and on my third run of toastie weeks, the plates had stopped heating evenly. My sandwiches started to become either soggy or burnt in patches even when the plates were lightly greased beforehand.Being a resourceful person, I decided I would at least try and make waffles with it to avoid throwing away an appliance that could be used for something, and discovered that the waffle plates didn't even fit. Where the toastie and panini plates easily slotted in, the top waffle plates would fall out when moved. Which is incredibly dangerous to have a hot metal plate fall into or near probably also heated batter.So with regret I had to retire this snack maker after just a year of very intermittent use.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas as she really wanted a waffle maker. It worked well for the first 10 uses, but after that the waffles kept sticking to the plates. This is despite always using oil and never putting them in the dishwasher. There also seemed to be heat spots where it would burn. It got to the point where we had to throw them in the bin because they became impossible to even clean. I then went onto the Salter site to buy new plates, but they were out of stock and remained out of stock for 4 months! It was also very annoying having to pay £4 delivery for something that shouldn't have gone wrong so quickly. So we started using the panini plates twice a week, but the non stick coating has started to come off so we have also thrown these away.It's not just the plates that are bad, it's also a bit of a nightmare to clean. There are so many gaps that cheese gets into that are almost impossible to get to. We have now decided to buy a good quality waffle maker and separate panini maker. Once we do that, this machine will go into the bin as it's too disgustingly dirty to sell and too difficult to clean.
takes time to get get right
There's a learning curve with this appliance and I'm not there yet. I've had three attempts and each time I improve, but none of them have been excellent. It's not batters fault - I just can't get them as crispy as I would like, and that's the pans fault. I'll keep try but am not as excited by this purchase as I hoped I would be.
Broke first use & has UK plug
This product is terrible. 1 star is too kind. My kids love waffles and this was a share Christmas present for them to make waffles. On first use screws fell from the middle exposing wires. This was after tge product arrived, shipped quickly from Australia but with a UK plug. Horrible experience. You should pay my kids double for their crap Christmas present.
