5.0 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE FOR DOGS!!!!
Every dog I’ve bought this for (including my own) are obsessed with this toy!! It’s very durable and even the sharpest razors of puppy teeth have barely made a scratch! There’s a hole in the centre of the ball to put treats into, we use chopped carrots/ chicken and then let the dog go wild. It’s the only toy that has kept our dog entertained for so long!! Our dog is a Cockapoo and very intelligent, so usually brain toys are finished quickly, this one is the one we use when we need more than 5 minutes to relax. Even when there’s no treats in there, our pup will take it out of her box to play with.I recommend this to anyone who has a dog.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for None-Chewers and small breeds.
Firstly, my dogs are not chewers. They have never gnawed through any toy ever.I got the large size, though it was much chunkier than expected and my dogs are small terrier breeds. But this actually seems to have the added advantage that it's too big for them to pick up in their mouth and drop/crack/smash on the laminate floor. However, it is not at all heavy, so the dogs can push it about easily enough and it doesn't bang or clatter if flipped over. The ball in the large gyro is just a bit bigger than a large tennis ball. It has a finger sized hole for the food to drop out of. This hole has a staggered lip on the inside, which makes it a bit more challenging for the dog to get the food out. It also seems to stop the hole getting blocked, and prevents too much food falling out at once. One of my dogs is a smart cookie. The other one is . . . not. But both seem to have a good time with this toy, though they were initially a bit tentative of the size. Temptation soon won out, and they get braver with the toy each time they play with it.The ball unscrews to put the food in, and for cleaning. It screws and unscrews easily by hand, but the dogs have not managed to accidentally open it (something cheaper puzzle balls do, which spoils the fun). The red belt is a hard plastic, but light. It's too big for my little dogs to get their teeth around, but I could imagine this being an issue for bigger dogs that chew. KONG should probably release a heavy duty version with a red ring made of the same tough chewable rubber as it's original KONG range. The red ring is a hard, hollow plastic. The blue ball is a hard, transparent plastic. You can see how much kibble is inside the ball without needing to open it. It is surprisingly light. My two chihuahua X JRTs love shoving this toy around the kitchen with their noses, or smacking it about with their paws. It works well on smooth floors or low pile carpets. They're too small to pick it up, but they do gain quite a turn of speed on a smooth floor. The Gyro has been smacked about with paws and bashed into the walls a lot, but it doesn't seem to have taken any damage. It also hasn't left any damage on the hard furnishings. Always a bonus! It's really easy to clean and dry.A big hit with the furkids.
1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, flawed design I feel.
I have a love for this brand. Some fantastic products. This not being one. Outer rubber ring is fantastic! Same kong quality as one would expect. Blue ball was dismantled and destroyed within 10 minutes of opening by a 5 month old labrador. Rendering the entire product ultimately useless. Had to take it off her to avoid any potential damages to the dog.Thoroughly unimpressed. This was only delivered a few hours ago and has been on my desk since. Zero stars would be applied if possible.UPDATE: Did take out the blue ball completely and left her with the rubber outer ring. No, absolutely do not do this. The ring is hollow and easily broken. Leaves pretty sharp shards that actually cut her mouth. This is the last time i get anything from the brand i once had so much love/trust for. Disgusting.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great entertainment but be weary of chewers
My Shepherd really enjoys playing with this while it's dispensing treats but need to keep a close eye as she's getting a nasty habit of chewing the whole thing once empty and it's not standing up to it too well. Its fantastic when we're home but originally bought as something to keep her entertained while at work but just not comfortable leaving her with it.
3.0 out of 5 stars not so good
have a very active puppy, this toy is very noisy being hard plastic, dog gets frustrated as treats get stuck in it, can never get them all out, no way of cleaning inside, the lip on the inside stops small kibble from coming out,
5.0 out of 5 stars A sturdy interactive feeding toy
This Kong gyro is the most challenging toy for our dogs.In our household, we have various footballs that dogs need to knock around to get food out. This Kong Gyro seems to take twice as much effort and time for the food to be dispensed. So if you want something that is more challenging, then this Kong gyro could be a good fit. We're also pleased with its robust design - it's been bashed a lot over the last few months so far!
2.0 out of 5 stars Not sturdy
This toy is made of quite cheap plastic, including the red ring that surrounds the ball. My dogs teeth punctured it on the first play. Not the usual rubber that Kong uses and, thus, no where near as durable
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful boredom breaker
The quality of the item is really good, my dog was throwing it around and it never once came undone. It’s very easy to use as the ball part screws on and off for ease of adding treats, the size is also good , it might be a bit small for an xxl breed like a Great Dane but other than that it’s really good. My dog isn’t a big chewer but I would say that it would withstand some chewing. Overall it’s a really good product.
Medium size dog has not bit through outer red rim.
I had the smaller size for my Bichon Frize. He bit through the outer red rim. The larger one is stronger and easier to find in the house since it's large. He LOVES this toy!
Great! 1
Excellent for keeping bored dogs busy! Seems tough and durable for 2 crazy, destroy everything doggies!
Brinquedo grande
O brinquedo é demasiado grande para cães de pequeno porte. Meu cãozinho não consegue rolar o brinquedo para sair os petiscos.
