5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for making candles -they go floppy when candle wax is poured so need support till it sets
These are good wicks, as they burn evenly with the wax and are robust enough to last as it does. I needed reminding that wicks need support once the hot wax is poured around them if used for mould type rather than dipped candles. I used some wood skewers and wedged the wick between them. The metal base is great you can just place a bit of molten wax on its underside and 'glue' it to the base of the mould. I didn't bother to check whether these would work with my candle wax as I had no idea what the wax I was using was. I suspect it will be just the cheapest but it was a massive pillar candle I'm melting down to make miniature candles in pots with and so whilst w good wax it certainly isn't bees wax. These wicks are working great and I would use them again they are also a fab price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fast delivery, well packed, great quality, burns slow
Mine came with prime next delivery. Great value for money. I do not make my own candles but love candles. They cost quite a bit but always left with loads of wax. I wanted to find a cheaper way. So what I did, I kept all the burnt candles. When I had 3 or 4 I melted the remaining wax. Poured it all to one jar, added the wick to it and popped it in the fridge. And here we go, brand new candle to burn with the same great fragrance. I used these wicks with my ikea big glass candle jars and it's just the right size.
4.0 out of 5 stars Candle wicks
Nice product to increase use of wax in bought candles held in glass jars. removed old wax metal holder and then heated up glass jar in microwave till wax melted. Inserted wicks but difficult to keep wick straight or wick came loose from metal base. solution was to keep wick as short as possible and only insert wick and metal holder once wax started to solidify a bit.Good item to prolong usefulness of expensive candles in jars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Got these for the bees wax candles
Got these for doing some bees wax candles With the bees wax from the bee hive - won’t they look nice on me mums Birthday cake -she’s 96 in January 🤣😂
3.0 out of 5 stars Crackling sound
Most were bent when I received them but still useable. The metal base needs to be stuck to something at the bottom even if it’s just a small piece of soft wax from the candle.Crackling sound as the wicks are burning??
5.0 out of 5 stars Ok for the money
I can be a bit of a tightwad about some things and candles is one of them. Why do lovely candles just burn pretty much down the middle and you are left with over half the wax unused? I feel cheated if I have bought them and sad for the purchaser if they have been a gift. So I decided to melt the wax and reuse them. I looked in certain hobby shops and the amount of money they want for few wicks is astronomical so I turned to Bolo. These were cheap and are not the best quality. They don’t seem to want to stay attached to their base when you first put them in. I’m a first time amateur candle maker so it could be me doing it wrong. I might buy some different ones next time or I may get over the sadness of the left over wax and chuck them away and buy new candles, who knows.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fine item
Ordered in error, but the item looks fine. Did not try to contact seller. Gave 5 stars due to the fact that I had been at fault - rather than the item.
