5.0 out of 5 stars Had one before and decided to have another after a few years of non use. Prompted by good discount.
This was a replacement for a George Foreman bought about 10 years ago. This new one doesn't have removable plates but to be honest it was an option we never used on the last one. Ridged sponges on a slightly warm plate is more than enough to clean.I've only cooked sausages and burgers on it and they came out, using the guide cooking time they came out very well, succulent without excess fat, as a heart attack victim it is something you look for and what prompted me to buy the first one. It didn't set the smoke alarm off as the cooker grill always does. The cooking time is substantially less as you don't have to flip them.First impressions are very good though I might well have to question the lack of heat setting options, it only has one!
5.0 out of 5 stars Versitile, great grill, easy to use. V Pleased.
I already had a smaller one but wanted to upgrade to a larger model so I could cook on it for family or just for two more comfortably. It says it's for 10, but only if the portions are relatively small. I'd say you could fit probably 6 standard burgers with space for onions and some tomatoes. You may fit 4 8oz steaks with trimmings. Not tried either, but that would be my estimate. Or, 2 steaks plus all the trimmings you're likely to want.Simpler to clean than earlier models. But worth buying an oil sprayer to coat your meat in a little oil before cooking as not only does this improve cooking it aids cleaning too, less bits sticking to grill. Generally I don't wash it and definitely never scrub it. It you wipe it with kitchen roll while still warm efter cooking everything comes off. Don't let it cool as it's like chipping concrete. For those new to these things, the temp is pre set so there's nothing can go wrong. It's worth timing how long it takes to cook something the first time so as to repeat it accurately when you've made that perfect grill. They're good for camping if you have a hookup and using an extension cord you can put it in the garden for a BBQ grill and leave folk to cook for themselves. Just take care of where the power cord trails especially if there are kids around.Steaks are particularly good. Sausages too. And judging by the fat runoff, I think the claims to reduced fat are fair. Burgers produce a lot, unless they're venison which is low fat anyway. I feel happy to recommend this.
5.0 out of 5 stars George Foreman large grill
The grill is absolutely amazing, so easy to use and cooks perfect.
4.0 out of 5 stars I love this thing!
This is the only way I now cook my chicken and it's super quick (5 minutes for a chicken breast). I would recommend getting a larger size than you think you'll need, as I use this size for just one portion for one person and it's one of the bigger sizes, and it works perfect for me. If you're feeding a family I would recommend investing in the biggest size they have, especially if you're grilling more than one thing. It's really easy to clean, I let it cool down for a bit, squeeze some soapy water over it, let it soak for 10 mins and then give it a wipe down with a cloth. I make sure to put the oil catching tray underneath while cleaning to catch the soapy water which runs down. I never use the tray when actually cooking chicken as I find no fat comes out of it. Takes about 5-10 minutes to pre-heat up and I've not had any issues with the thermostat. You can't change the heat setting, so I find with certain hard/starchy vegetables I might need to par-boil and cut them up into smaller peices first (I also cut the chicken up), however you might not need to do this if you like your veg al-dente. You can also wrap them in foil first for easier clean up, however I don't bother. My chicken and veg always get a slight chargrill to them, which I like, so if you don't like any burning then I would not recommend this grill (or you can use foil). My only gripes are that it is quite heavy to pick up/move around and sometimes bits of food get stuck down in the hinges at the back which are a bit fiddly to get clean (to do so you have to lift up the back of the lid which is connected by a spring mechanism). Also annoyingly it produces a TON of steam when in use, so make sure to use it by an extractor fan, window or somewhere with ventalation and away from under any kitchen cupboards. The lead is also quite short which could be an issue regarding the steam produced. There are things that could be improved however for ease, convenience and the end result I like it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect solution for family or single person
insane fast cooking speeed, so you dont need to wait long for food, previously was using smaller one , was cooking for 20-30min a chicken 500-800grams, this monster cooks it in 5-8minutes, insane
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Grill
This grill does steaks and burgers perfectly every time. It's quick and efficient. I've even done Bacon and eggs on it. Very pleased. Cleaning is simple, once cooled down, place a wet cloth on the grill, switch it on for 30 seconds and all the grease just wipes off. I've got two of these grills now, love 'em.
