The CD/DVD player needed to be robust because of Bolo's packing or more to the point lack of. Wrapped in a layer of thin bubble wrap the placed in a paper bag.The dive is quiet and works well no thanks to Bolo warehouse operation.

Great Drive. Bought it just to install all the drivers for my new PC, did the job just fine. The sound was fine, infact it sounded quite smooth, then when it started installing from the CD the noise to pick up quite a bit... But seen as though you don't have it running the whole time, it's not a problem. I received more than expected, was expecting just an OEM disk drive in a cardboard box, but got a fully retailed box with hardware installation CD and manual. Mount screw were also included but didn't require them in my case; not a bad looking drive either, i have quite a high end gorgeous case and didn't want to spoil it by an awful disc drive but it looks quite nice in my case...I don't understand why the picture shows full black, when even the Asus website specification shows silver... Not a problem, but slightly misleading for some people...

I am a firm believer in always having an optical drive as part of my set up. Flash drives are good but tend to be prone to failure from time to time. Which is really annoying. Especially when you have paid silly money for them. I have never had an Optical drive fail on me. May be a bad disc but not the drive. This drive is excellent and of course it's Asus. I have always used Asus for graphics cards and many other things they produce. All quality products. They say the day of Optical drives is coming to an end. I don't think so. There is always a use for them. Would buy again.

I bought this a long time ago after my pc upgrade from windows7 to win10 refused to acknowledge existing internal dvd drives which has something to do with "legacy"This drive works without any issues.

I mainly use my DVD/CD drive to rip CDs into FLAC files on a PC and my old drive started misreading discs.I bought this internal drive at the same time as an Asus Zen USB external drive. All I can say is the Zen drive will accurately read discs that this one will not and so for me that is the main drive I will now use for my music files.
Remplace un ancien lecteur IDE
Acheté car mon ancien lecteur avec interface IDE est incompatible avec ma nouvelle carte mère MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus dépourvue de connecteurs IDE.J'aurais pu acheté une carte contrôleur IDE en PCI express mais le prix de celles-ci est sensiblement le même qu'un nouveau lecteur DVD.De plus mon ancien lecteur à plus de 10 ans et je ne pense pas qu'une carte contrôleur aurais permis un démarrage sur un DVD d'installation d'OS.

Una gran grabadora de dvd
Una gran marca. Instalación y funcionamiento sin problema. Tuve que tirar la LG que tenía porque dejo de funcionar por la broma esa de la "obsolescencia programada", vamos que no se había estropeado pero ya no funcionaba porque tenía mas de 10 años. Lo dicho, una grabadora DVD y reproductor de toda confianza.
