5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely *small* dogs only - <5kg?
Like everyone else, I would emphasise these are *small*, which is great for puppies and small dogs, but a bit meagre for anything bigger. They do bigger sizes which is what I will buy next time.@Bolo - there's an error in the description, these are not 120g packs but 100g as you can just about see from the top-right of the first picture. Which means the treats are 200mg each - you can see the size from the photo with a £1 coin, what you can't see is that they're really thin, about the thickness of a 20p piece, so there's really not much to them. Our dog loves liver and didn't have any problem in sussing that these were nice. I was looking for something that was more user-friendly than freeze-dried liver which is great for classes but a pain for crumbling when kept in a bag out and about. These are the opposite - they seem to have been finished like a medical pill, so they're shiny smooth and very "clean". So I will definitely buy again, just a bigger size next time.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
These treats are very small, but just right for a toy poodle. They don't smell too much either. Good for training or just as a reward. Our girl loves them, but then she'll eat practically anything. I would recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great training tool! Don't go on pup's first reaction...
When I first presented these tiny little training treats to my 4 month old cavapoo, he was very curious. After obediently sitting, I put one out on my hand for him and his nose immediately shot over it... and then just as quickly it shot away! He recoiled from it and sulked off, upset at such a measly reward. Compared to Waggs peanut butter cookie treats, I can imagine, these small, tablet-like little liver discs were... well, not so exciting to him. I was really upset as the idea behind these being only 0.3kcal and therefore ideal for training had excited me. It was because of this that I persisted: I left the treat on the floor and walked away. My puppy then came back over to it for further consideration and after a few seconds of intense sniffing, he licked it and then lapped it up. Now, they're honestly one of his favourite things. All I have to do is let him see one and he'll 100% pay attention to my commands. I'm really pleased with this product and would recommend them for anyone with a puppy in-training who wants to be able to reward frequently without health/weight gain concerns.PROS:- Small, so easy to carry about for immediate rewarding of good behavior;- Apparently very tasty, even if they're not so visually appealing;- Smell is not highly detectable for us humans, so your pockets won't stink from carrying them about as with many other treats;- The 0.3kcal count means they can be given often throughout the day, enforcing puppy training without risking overfeeding.CONS:- Poor value for money: £5.99 for 450 is rather expensive in any case, but considering the appeal is that you can provide these treats more frequently to your dog during training than you can a higher calorie option, you will naturally go through the 450 quickly and need to buy more;- Appearance: these treats look like small brown tablets, which certainly didn't initially fill my puppy's heart with joy. However, the taste seems to make up for that downside if you can cajole your dog into trying one :)
5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, dog loves these!!
I was initially disappointed when I saw the size of the packaging. However, these are absolutely perfect for training puppies. They are small but that's great when you need to be repetitive. Dog was totally addicted to them, so we ended up doing some scent training and hiding them all over the room. Kept her busy for ages. Really recommend these little treats.
3.0 out of 5 stars Good but tiny
I bought these training treats due to their low calorie content for training my dog. The dog likes them but they don’t seem to have much of a smell as she struggles to locate them when they’re thrown or used for a snuffle game. The treats look like little ibuprofen pills and when I say they’re tiny I mean tiny. They’re also very expensive for what they are but if you’re looking for something low calorie that you’ll be passing straight to your dog these are okay.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for training my 4 month old dachshund
I was worried about over feeding my puppy with treats whilst trying to train him to sit, stay and crate train etc but these have been great. I'd say that they are a low value treat, he definitely prefers others but these have been great for sessions where I was feeling a bit guilty about nearly finishing a full bag of other brands! They last a long time and I think they're great for training, I've purchased them twice. My puppy ate them with ease, easy to chew, no mess after eating and seem like a healthy alternative to high calorie treats.
5.0 out of 5 stars These are perfect for puppy training!
Can’t rate these highly enough! Our puppy isn’t really food driven so training has been challenging at times, but he can’t get enough of these - it’s the only treat he absolutely loves. A fantastic training aid as they are so tiny but obviously really tasty!
1.0 out of 5 stars Should be called Mouse training treats!
These treats are tiny! Not much of a reward and a complete waste of money. They seemed to be the size of chocolate buttons or a 5pence piece in the description picture but they're extremely small. Would suit a mouse, vole or rat (if you're lead training a new pet!) even a small dog would struggle to taste or smell these. My little Whippets kept dropping them they're so small! Never buying again and would not recommend for training...there is no reward in a tiny pellet that looks and smells like a flat rabbit poo!
