I originally bought a Parker 51 but was extremely disappointed (the resin body scuffs permanently when you simply post the stainless steel cap) so I returned it and got the Parker IM instead. The box it comes in is no match for the 51's, which is very premium, but the pen itself is better quality, being made entirely of stainless steel - with no scuffing issue when posting the cap. It's a nice weight and well balanced, even with the cap posted, it writes well with no scratchiness or stalling, and the finish (I went for the Dark Espresso) is gorgeous. With the difference in price I was able to order the pen, an ink converter and two bottles of Quink for only 59p more than just the Parker 51.

As a Poet, there is just something about writing with a fountain pen that really makes poetry special, even in the draft stage. Sorry, you need to be a writer and a poet to really understand. It is a geeky thing, I know, but for me, a fountain pen is a must. This is beautiful!My only complaint? Just one. It did not come with an ink converter cartridge, so I could use bottled ink. I needed to buy an extra one, which set me back an extra £9. I got a Parker Jotter a few years back, and it included one at a quarter of the price I paid for this pen!BUT I SO LOVE WRITING WITH THIS PEN!

Well impressed by this pen. I wasn't expecting too much from a pen at this price point, but after a weeks use, I've got to say it's a joy to use. A great entry-level fountain pen for those new to fountain pens.

Personally I have found that fountain pens have a very smooth and consistent writing action, and this pen is no exception. The ink flow has been perfect since the first stroke. The pen looks great in black with orange ring, and the weight feels good in the hand, not heavy or light.
