Really happy with this chess set. Bought as a gift, and it is great value for the money. I spent way too many hours researching chess sets online, and am very glad to have chosen this one. The board is gorgeous. I wanted a size that was comfortable enough to play a game next to a laptop or to travel with but not so small that you'd fumble with the pieces. I think this hits the sweet spot. The pieces are light, and so benefit from being magnetised. As you can see from one of the photos, if you tilt the board 45 degrees they remain in place. Not the most finely carved, but they are quite charmingly rustic, and importantly they are consistent in size. My main criticism is that the insert for the pieces is quite flimsy plastic and lifts out of the board, but it does stay in place and having flipped the closed board with the pieces inside around a few times, they did surprisingly mostly remain in their slots.

This is a very attractive set. Arrived with no defects. Another distinguishing feature of this set is the algebraic markings, which a find very useful, as I am still not completely comfortable with algebraic notation. For the most part a like the piece designs. The queen perhaps more anonymous than in other sets, but you do soon get used to it.The pieces fit tightly into felt inserts to prevent rattling when carrying, which is good. The disadvantage, is that it does make putting the set away slower.Great value

This was a perfect size and nicely crafted chess board. Bought it as a Chistmas present for my husband. But when he opened it there was one extra white bishop instead of a white knight. Could we have a white knight delivered, please? I don't want to return the whole thing for a small piece. Thanks!

This chess board is perfect. Nicely finished board and chess pieces which are magnetic too. Pieces are stored inside folded board. One piece was not magnetic and supplier got in contact quickly and sent replacement piece in time for Christmas as it was a gift. The recipient loved it! Highly recommend this chessboard.

Came in a unbranded white cardboard box, with a "Made in China" label. In Ali.express these may be purchased for €10. Laminated wood with bad paint finish. The green velvet in the inside is just cheap plastic. My recommendation: shop around. This one is not worth the price.

Ich bin so begeistert, ich hatte ein anderes Schachspiel kürzlich zurück geschickt von dem ich wirklich enttäuscht war. Dieses hier ist aber in keinster Weise mit dem anderen zu vergleichen.Jeder Magnet hält,die Figuren unterscheiden sich deutlich voneinander,das Spielfeld ist sehr genau gearbeitet,die Schieße ist zart aber genau gearbeitet,nichts grackelt, es ist sehr gut verarbeitet.Ich empfehle es auf jeden Fall auch für Anfänger. Es ist alles da was man braucht, sogar die Beschriftung auf dem Spielfeld, im Gegensatz zu anderen Reise Schachspielen.Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung. *****
