The solid metal tool head keeps the pipe perfectly square for a perfect pipe flare.

DIY user (although trained to flare pipes in a "previous life").I have both this (DIN) flare tool and the SAE version. Both are excellent. They can be used in restricted spaces on vehicle or on the bench and both create perfect flares in steel, cupro-nickel & copper pipe. Instructions are easy to understand. Both look like they're built to last.Very pleased with them.

After researching various tools online I opted for this style as it potentially made more consistent flares when being used by a novice like myself. The tool is very simple to use (I honestly don’t think you could get it wrong) and has made perfect flares every time. The quality is excellent and although slightly more expensive than other models available, I’d have no hesitation in buying another if I needed to make SAE flares at anytime (bought DIN model for replacing the brake pipes on my Rover 75).

4.0 out of 5 stars An easy to use tool for the home mechanic
Fairly easy to use once you read the instructions. A few practice runs required but doable for anyone. Check your pipe hardness as copper-nickel pipe tends to be harder and I noticed a tendency to develop cracks. Build quality is sometimes hit and miss with thread finish hindering a smooth action, but overall it is still a good tool. I had one replaced for cross threading one of the cross bolts. For what it is I find it a little expensive and be sure of which type of flare you need as you need the complete tool, not just the die swap. I would still recommend it for the DYI mechanic. Not sure that using it in the vehicle is really that easy.

My brake line started leaking so ordered this after doing some research. I like you can use this in pretty tight places on the car. Comes with the female and male head, another one that says stop plus the grease and a plastic 'container'.Not used one before but was pretty simple and makes some great flares. Wish the instructions were a bit clearer, I needed a few tries to figure out how far the pipe would need to go in. Especially the female flare is difficult as it easily cracks if you push it in too far.I found that doing it bit by bit worked best, so stick it in and keep moving it a little further every time until happy, marking the pipe as you go along. Roughly where the thread starts worked best I found.Would definitively recommend, used it on both steel and copper lines, and made beautiful flares. Car is back on the road and looking forward to use it again to completely replace all my brake lines in the spring.

This tool was delivered promptly. and I am pleased with the results obtained with it.I always try new tools before using them on a job, and right away, I was impressed with this tool when used on a piece of old tubing.It is very easy to set up, and the flares produced were all faultless on all the new brake pipes, and I found it far better than the cheaper yolk type flaring tool and well worth the added expense.I used it with a ratchet ring spanner, which made the process effortless, and convenient to use in a confined spaceI would definitely recommend this tool.

Having never done any brake pipe repair work, was suddenly presented with a burst brake pipe on my daughters 2007 Ford Fiesta. Bought this tool to flare the ends of the new and existing pipes, in steel and copper/zinc and it worked perfectly. Very simple and straightforward to use on pipes on and off the car, producing perfect joints. Can recommend.
Perfect din flares every time
Incredibly easy to use, can’t mess it up, my only gripe is having to pay $20 to get it here in a reasonable amount of time, UPDATE, used it again for a few flares, about 4 or so, and the internal threads on the block chipped off a bit where the block splits in two, I haven’t noticed any difference whatsoever in functionality, flares great still, and threading in the die is still smooth as before, which wasn’t all that smooth, but not inexcusable

Je possède déjà le modèle pour les dudgeons au normes SAE qui est livré avec le petit embout qui fait les évasements femelles et l’embout pour la forme mâle. L’ensemble est très facile d’utilisation et donne un résultat parfait. Celui-ci permet de réaliser la forme mâle(seulement..)au norme Din (malgré tout, que très légèrement différent par rapport à la forme sae) il fonctionne également parfaitement. A voir dans le temps, mais pour une utilisation ponctuelle et même plus, je pense que c’est idéal.

réfection de canalisations de freins sur un Opel Zafira. Après quelques essais pour prise en main,appareil pratique et efficace, autant pour les évasements mâle que pour les femelles, passe partout bref très pratique et pour le prix ne pas hésiter.
