About this item:
Having been in the industry more than 25 years, Boveda is a trusted and experienced brand in relative humidity control. But what does that even mean? Relative humidity (RH) refers to the percentage of humidity within an environment. In other words, it answers the question, 'how moist or dry is the air?' Boveda's founders and scientists discovered that the right RH has a huge impact on an item's aroma, flavor and potency. Using Boveda, you’ll maintain a precise moisture level, which keeps your natural items fresh. No more mustiness. You can even use a Boveda pack to revive dry items. It takes just seconds to protect your items with Boveda. Just slip a Boveda in, close the container, and forget about the pack until it starts to get hard. Once it does, just switch it out with a replacement pack. (This multi-pack of Boveda 58 RH Size 67 contains 12 individually wrapped replacement humidity control packs.) Each pack can last you up to 6 months. Its lifespan depends on how often you open the container, how airtight your container is and how dry or humid the climate you live in is. More efficient in a humidor than a guitar case
This review and rating is strictly for using these in a guitar case. I use Boveda packs in my humidor and they work great. A large pack will last me at least a month. This was the first year I decided to try them in my daughter’s guitar cases. I did so because I was tired of the constant refilling and risk of leaks with refillable guitar case humidifiers. The Boveda packs lasted about two weeks before they dried out. They do work with guitar cases but costs mount quickly due to the more frequent replacements required. I was going to purchase a second box of Boveda packs but opted instead to re-purchase the refillable guitar humidifiers. I need a more cost effective option to last all winter.
Be sure to read.
I purchased these to restore and maintain a nice level of moisture for my 💐 🌹, and don't get me wrong these work but the 62% Boveda packs are the level of moisture I was looking for. Be sure to read what the numbers on the front of the pack are specifically for.
Works well in the cold “Up North” for classical/dreadnought guitars
We had a particularly cold winter and now a cold spring. I used the 50% humidity packs up to now, and they work well, but am trying the 58% humidity version as replacements since we have extended cold temps here in the North, near Canada. 58% was allowable for guitars, so we’ll see how they work out.
So much better than the cheap brand.
I bought a doz of the Boveda and a dozen of the cheap white ones. The Boveda transfer their moisture to the flower hydrating it in about 3-5 days. The white ones have been in for 3 weeks and the flower is still bone dry and the cheap humidity packs are still heavy and squeshy. After the Boveda packs dry out I put them in a ziplock overnight with damp paper towels and they are recharged with water and good to use over and over.
