5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value vocal recording Microphone
I bought this for Chromebook and it just plugs straight in and works fine. The build quality is good and the sound quality based on a few quick tests is very good too. It has a quality metal and plastic construction that feels sturdy. The tripod legs fold out easily and stay in place. The lead is a good length too. I'm very pleased with this Microphone. It also has a neat volume control. I was looking at higher spec mics that have wide and stereo effects costing twice the price but I'm happy with this one. I do DJ live streams and I've yet to check wether this can handle heavy bass in a room setting so I can't comment on that kind of recording yet.I think this is a very good purchase for all my media adventures. I'm taking up singing using an autotune app and this will be perfect for that.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing value for money
For the price, this microphone is surprisingly good. I am a product reviewer so I ran test between this product and a range-topping USB mic, there's practically no noticeable difference. It's ideal for gaming, Discord, Podcasting, content creation, you name it! Directional range is acceptable, pickup from distance is really good, sound quality is pretty much perfect and it hardly picks up any background noise. Nice design too, quality feel and materials. It's smaller than you would expect too, easily portable. The stand does it's job nicely, although it can also be attached to an arm if required. Plug and play for sure, I had no problems setting it up and the microphone volume adjuster on the front is a great addition, which some of the higher end microphones are lacking. I highly recommend this product to all levels of creators, fantastic product!
4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, given its price point. Some problems with hissing
I bought this microphone to record myself playing tuba for my band, after having issues with recording through a speakerphone. The quality of the audio has been very good, and miles better than my laptop's on-board mic. For the tuba, I pointed the microphone away, despite its directionality, so that I could record the instrument's reflected sound. I also recorded my voice, pointing the microphone directly at myself, and got good audio quality and a very strong signal. I recorded using Audacity.I did have some issues with hissing. It varied as I unplugged the microphone and moved it around my laptop's USB ports. I was able to eliminate it, to my mostly untrained ear, by increasing the volume on the microphone to maximum and decreasing the recording volume (suggesting that the hiss is introduced after the on-board preamp).Overall, a good purchase. I have had some issues, but they've been circumvented effectively.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good
At max gain picks up even whispers, which is great, in contrast to a lot of cheaper mics that need you to speak quite loudly to produce something clear. Also picks up all the room noise, but that can be solved with software-based noise suppression, like NVIDIA Broadcast and others.
5.0 out of 5 stars Bought during the height of COVID remote working, still trucking nearly 3 years on
This is more of a long term review for this microphone which I rated as 5 stars when first purchased. Nothing to change that after an extended use and if it were to fail 9 months out of the 2 year warranty period I'd likely buy another as the cost has barely increased (was £30, now £35 at time of review).I don't game much but would imagine that the included stand would limit the utility for gamers who tend to favour setups much closer to the mouth. The included microphone flexible tripod was less than impressive and so I combined the mic with a positional mic stand (like an anglepoise lamp) which floats the mic about 30cm above my head while working/video conferencing.Sound quality is impressive for the cost (it is no studio XLR condenser mic but then the cost reflects that. I've found that the cardioid pickup pattern helps to reject off-axis ambient noise remarkably well. Colleagues commented on the improved quality of audio over what I had been using, namely a Microsoft Lifecam Studio built in mic. The Fifine will pick up some typing noise although I have found that much reduced when combined with AI processing using Nvidia's Broadcast audio available on 20+ series graphics cards.Nearly three years on, the mic shows no signs of wear and sound quality is a case of set once and forget with it rapidly becoming part of the background and never needing to fuss with settings. The included pop shield helps keep dust out of the metal-shrouded condenser mic and prevents most plosive consonants (B, D, P, T, etc) being boomy or popping if held close to the mouth.Would recommend and would buy again if the need arose.
5.0 out of 5 stars Microphone
I was really pleased when I received this microphone, I really liked the colour and I felt the product was really good value. The sound quality was absolutely brilliant did everything I needed to do as have who have the look of the product and with the usability. It was really easy to set up and to my computer I had no technical difficulties whatsoever. Once the device was set up I was able to use it really efficiently and I'm listening back the sound quality was exactly as I wanted to be without a lot background noise. I particularly liked the look of the microphone and this sort of metallic purple was right up my alley.
3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
Maybe its me, but I don’t find that it’s at all better than my phone’s microphone or my cheaper laver microphone. But sometimes I don’t speak during filming. I bought it from a YouTube recommendation to add voiceovers. It’s so sensitive to your position so you can’t move your head otherwise the recording is very uneven. The general sound it picked up is tinny and not especially pleasant.Disappointed but I’m using it for now - not moving an inch & fixing the sound a little with an equaliser in filmora with my limited skills.
