Bought this to replace a similar but much older machine from a different brand. I have to say, coffee tastes a lot nicer in this one! Also the second metal filter and the surrounding rubber seal make everything much cleaner - the base of the top half of the gadget doesn't get covered in coffee and you can easily remove the coffee powder without it going everywhere. Great purchase, I'm very happy. Takes a little while to make coffee but it's plenty for our needs so no complaints there

Good value for the price. Makes a good quantity of espresso coffee. There are no fill markings so it's a bit trial and error to start with. Also it takes a bit of use to get the timings right as to when all the water has filtered through (unless I'm missing something, which is not beyond the realms of possibility). If you open the lid while it is still percolating it spits the coffee at you. The container where you put the coffee is a bit flimsy but, all in all for the money, a good buy.

Bought the smaller 6 cup to start loved it so bought the 12 cup which comfortably fills 2 normal size mugs. Coffee is perfect. Do not leave the lid up while percolating as it spits. Take your time with the pour, or it will spill. I use this on my induction hob no problem. Only use a medium heat, it takes longer, but the coffee is so much better. Do not use the handle to tighten the top and make sure the handle is not directly above heat source. I love my coffee, you may have to try a few different makes of ground coffee bean to find your favourites, but now I have a few that I love. Most of the problems I've seen in reviews are down to rushing it. Take your time, you can't rush a good espresso

I had a few of this type of coffee makers over the years. I wanted a larger one (600ml), which is not so easy to find. I bought the VonShef as reviews seemed ok. I was very disappointed when I saw the poor quality of the product (yes, it's made in China). The funnel is paper thin and crooked (see the photo), the material bends without putting much force to hold it. The inside of the lower part is not smooth, something I have never seen in any other of my previous ones or any aluminium product I have ever had in my kitchen. I didn't use it and have all the packaging. I want to return the item and they (the seller or Bolo?) are charging a fee that is more than 10% of the price of the product. I don't return products very often but this is the first time I've been charged to return an item purchased through Bolo!

Amazing coffee flavor
My smaller one finally needed to be replaced so I selected this size.Seems lighter than my other pot. Wash thoroughly in mild soapy water before use. Always stay near the pot so it doesn't over cook.Amazing coffee flavor, so much better than my French Press. Well worth the extra effort.Simple to use. Do not over fill water past the valve. Do not put in too many grounds 😊Very important to follow guidelines in use of these Italian style coffee makers! Burner should fit size of base or off center on electric. Do not force, twist firmly avoiding the handle when assembling or disassembling. There are instructions on Bolo and YouTube.

vonshef 12 cup espresso maker
We purchased the 2 cup to try last year, like it so much, it's quick, the coffee is rich, frothy, and seems creamy. So purchased the larger version, to be able to serve the same grateful of coffee to more than one person at a time.
This is what i was looking for
I bought the 12 cup espresso maker to try and find a more cost effective and less wasteful alternative to my Keurig. As a kid my mother always had these type pots and i grew to love them however it was tough to find a good price/'performance' product and i decided to just pull the trigger on something with a decent rating. I like to read negative ratings first and i did see that a lot of people had trouble with workmanship. I thankfully have no had these issues. I fill the water up below the pressure valve, put a relatively thin layer of coffee in the metal filter enough to not see any metal and throw the pot on medium heat, soon as it perks, take it off the burner let it sit for a minute and all good to go. Also it is best to tighten the top half of the pot WITHOUT using the handle for extra torque and also when screwing it should go on smoothly and you shouldn't have to use the handle to jam it closed either way, i think some people may be being a bit rough with it which would allow premature wear of the seal and other problems.So for cons, i did have to thoroughly wash the pot on arrival as some evidence of manufacturing were left and no one wants crap in their coffee, this isn't too big a deal if you do this step and a very big deal if you do not. Machining craftsmanship inside could be better however it does not affect the operation of the pot so again, your choice of whether it's an issue to you, i will say the outside of my pot is shiny and flawless as is the area where the finished coffee collects is very smooth and easy to clean. One star comes off for these points. There are much more expensive percolators that i'm sure have flawless finishes inside and out etc. but i just like coffee for waking up and am not much a snob with it nor do i have endless disposable income, so for the price this fit my needs swell, plus it comes with an extra filter and gasket when that stuff does fail.
