5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sound quality...
It's small, compact, silver, and it's lovely!Very well featured with DAB/DAB+ radio, Bluetooth (at last!), and a very good quality, well performing CD player. It has decent connectivity with an analogue RCA Phono input, and two optical SPDIF inputs, a subwoofer output, and good, high quality loudspeaker binding posts. It goes FAR louder than you'd imagine from the modest spec, however, it's a big powerful and accurate loud, rather than a harsh and brash loud. The sound/tonal quality is easily adjusted from tone controls, bass-boost, and optimisation for Denon's own speakers; all done from the remote control, which is rather on the large side; a little bulky, however, it is well and logically laid out. It's Denon, so you expect a quality product, and this is just what you do get.Looks lovely, sounds excellent, and is easy to use. The Bluetooth works like a charm with my iPhone/iPad/MacBook Pro, and the optical inputs are very fast, and when one is connected to an optical-out on a TV, there's no discernible audio-lag - which is nice - and the DAC behind it sounds excellent when playing movies or CDs from UHD Sony Blu-ray player....The analogue input works perfectly well if connected to a CD player (with no digital outputs), cassette deck, or turntable/phono preamp, and the DAB radio has very strong reception, even just using the supplied wire ribbon aerial. So overall, if you're looking for a high quality all-in-one small form-factor Hi-Fi system at a decent price, and which sounds Very high quality, then what are you waiting for? Just buy one of these..... :-)
5.0 out of 5 stars Remote Control
Very quick order process from Bolo/Richer Sounds. This Denon product replaces a dated Pioneer receiver (No bluetooth) Etc and is driving KEF bookshelf two way speakers. For some reason the remote control is massive in relationship to the Receiver but is logic in layout and works well. The sound quality is 5* and the tone controls have a excellent range. The build quality is good and looks and feels a quality product.DAB and DAB+ reception is a problem for me as I live in a poor signal location (who said DAB was 100% in all locations?) so looking to buy a indoor free standing aerial to hopefully gain a better signal strength and more stations to benefit from the 40 pre sets on offer.Good value for money and happy to recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Compact hifi with Superb sound
Well made high quality with good choice of inputs and modesThe reviewer who had one break after 7 months, surely it was still under guarantee period so no money lost ??
4.0 out of 5 stars Great product - just a couple of gripes
I purchased a Denon RDCM41DAB to replace a Denon RCD-M40DAB that I had bought six years ago and for which the power supply had failed. The RDCM41DAB appears to be an updated model of the earlier RCD-M40DAB but with Bluetooth replacing the USB port. It's a very good product - which is why I opted to replace effectively like-for-like. The sound quality is excellent and certainly good enough for me. I can also use my turntable through the aux input and get better TV sound using an optical cable.Bluetooth also works well and the sound quality appears to be the same as with a CD. One gripe, I had to go through the pairing process again after my wife used it with her phone.Otherwise, it also shares with the RCD-M40DAB the oddity of having a 50 ohm aerial input impedance rather than the domestic 75 ohm standard. The supplied indoor aerial ain't that good in a fringe area for DAB (when is DAB not in a fringe area...) and I have a DAB dipole on the same pole as the TV and FM aerials. Of course these are all 75 ohm impedance. It is possible to just connect a 75 ohm cable to a 50 ohm input (the connector is a standard F connector) but there will always be some power loss. For us it works but if we were in even further from the transmitter - and only just down the hill from us DAB drops out - the impedance mis-match may have made a difference. I wonder why Denon think it's a good idea to go with 50 ohm. For me it made the difference between 4 and 5 stars.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good build and sound
An excellent traditional all in one hifi solution, good quality sound from all sources 2 optical inputs also Bluetooth, it might only be 30 watts per channel but it is powerful the sound is detailed and rich
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful sound, classic looks, Denon quality
It’s a lovely little unit. Superb, clean sound from all sources. Bluetooth range is good enough for 10m away.Looks classic, reminds me of a 1999 Teac system I had back in the day.Easy connections, well appointed inputs and its great having a good quality CD player again.Running this through a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 9s in a 24m2 garden room and it sounds awesome.
5.0 out of 5 stars So good this is the third Denon of this model I've purchased for family or friends.
Some 7-8 years ago I selected this tuner/amp for a next-door neighbour. A few years later my eldest son bought one and last month I replaced my all-singing/all dancing vinyl/cassette/CD/mini-CD set-up by kit I can site next to my chair. Now I can enjoy the previously mentioned media plus FM, DAB and DAB+ without having to get up to attend the"hi-fi" rack! Certainly I have had to do without my recorders but the streamed DAB stations easily fill any gaps in content.Just one small negative: The latest model came with only a User Manual on CD making printing the owners job. Otherwise this little piece of kit is well built,.well specified and is reliable. Oh, and VERY GOOD value for money.
1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid this system. Broken after 7 months.
Had this system for 7 months and suddenly the power started intermittently going on and off, eventually it would no longer power on. I previously had an older version of this receiver which i used for 10 years which I really was impressed with- no issues and it still works! I decided to treat myself with an upgrade by buying this Denon RDCM41DAB , while the sound quality had improved, the build quality it seems is not up to the standard I expected from Denon. Will not be going down the Denon route again. £230 wasted.
Sonido fantastico
Bon petit appareil hifi
