I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a ukulele for some time so when lockdown was imposed for a second time decided then that time was now. After much research I opted for the Aklot tenor ukulele as it was sensibly priced and came with a selection of accessories including a tuner (essential), strap, plectrums, cleaning cloth, spare strings and carry bag. It also came with a little beginners booklet and a chord chart which was very useful for getting started as I was a complete beginner.The ukulele is a wonderful bit of craftsmanship, very well made with nice little touches such as the bird shaped bridge and engraved bird and makers name in the headstock, all the components such as the tuners and fretboard etc are top quality.Tuning the ukulele was very easy using the supplied tuner, simply clip it onto the headstock, select the Uc option and it indicates when each string is perfectly tuned. The ukulele sounds exceptionally good with a rich sound that surprised me a little, I was expecting it to sound a bit tinny, but it resonates superbly and holds the notes well, and unlike some ukuleles that I read reviews on this one doesn’t need tuning every 5 minutes, although I tend to check the tuning at the start of every practice session.Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would certainly recommend anyone thinking of taking up the ukulele to consider an Aklot.

Like a lot of folk I have always harboured the ambition to play a musical instrument. I didn't have the confidence to take on an acoustic guitar (having tried and failed miserably when I attempted to learn to play one in my youth). In recent times though I have noticed the growing popularity of the ukulele as an accessible and not too expensive instrument. Having watched many YouTube videos of people of all ages playing the ukelele, I was inspired to purchase one for myself - and have a go!I was seeking a budget uke, one that would provide a respectable sound, look good and feel good. After much research, I came across this Aklot ukelele and was very taken by its appearance, and impressed by the many favourable reviews it has received on Bolo and other sites. I also viewed assessments of this instrument on YouTube as given by accomplished musicians - the following Aklot reviews are certainly worth checking out:UkeleleRocks!Make It In Music (where an American musician compares the Aklot to a $1300 ukulele!)Chuck WilsonPeteyMack64I was hesitant about purchasing an instrument like this through the post because of the potential damage in transit. I needn't have worried though because this came nicely protected and packaged. The ukulele itself was wrapped in a spongy gauze material, then placed in its carrying case which, in turn, was surrounded by scrunched up parcel paper and then nestled in a sturdy Aklot cardboard box - this box had then been placed in a further Bolo cardboard box!This instrument really is a joy to behold and has already provided me with many hours of enjoyment. It produces a lovely sound, and because it's made of solid mahogany, I'm told that this sound should improve even further as the wood matures. I've actually amazed myself by learning to play a few simple songs within a fortnight of it arriving on my doorstep! By the way, Aklot customers have access to some beginners tips and a handful of free lessons on their website. However, for a more thorough (and FREE) 30 day course, I can recommend a YouTube site (where would we be without them?) - look for 'Bernadette Teaches Music' - she's an inspiration, and makes you feel like you're getting your very own 24/7 private music teacher.If you are looking for a ukulele for yourself, or to give as a present, then you should seriously consider purchasing one of these Aklot's. Well, first of all, I have taught Violin and Piano around schools for 23 years, the Uke has become popular of late and I am often called upon to teach whole class lessons with the Uke (Never thought I would be doing that after finishing music college). I have had a few Uke's, a nice old 30s Broadcaster etc but never really a reasonable traditional instrument. I am pleased to say now I have. Whoever put this package together did so with sensitivity, nothing included is really cheap and nasty and the instrument makes a good tone for this price bracket. So here is the lowdown.The Uke is slightly bigger (by a couple of cms) than the usual and is indeed made of solid wood. It has fixings for the included strap that are well placed and strong, I am six foot and the strap fits.The electronic tuner that comes in the package is Ace, the battery is included but not already inserted so no leaking. It's a good tuner and very easy to do. The tuner shows you the note and lights green when the note is bang on.The cleaning cloth that is also provided is novel but has a nice touch.Spare strings are labelled so no problems identifying the correct one should you have a breakage.Two picks were provided, a super soft and a hard guitar style.So in all, I can tell that however put this together was thinking of the player and not considering how to cut corners.This Uke would suit a child because you will avoid the disappointment caused by cheap stuff and at the same time get all the above. The case is OK and a little chord book with Uke info is included plus so tunes in the Uke tab.I really cannot rate this high enough.Well with it!!!!!!******
Nice starter uke
I ordered this concert thinking an acoustic/electric would suit my needs and bought it on Prime Day at a discount. I have decided, already having an acoustic concert, that I really need a silent electric uke for practice, so I am returning it and putting those funds towards that.Having said that, it was a nice little uke for the price. It sounded nice (very much like the Caramel I already have). It's solid mahogany with a nice finish (not glossy) and the detail around the sound hole was nicely done. The action was low and the frets were smooth. I really had no complaints about this item.... just decided it wasn't what I needed. If you're looking for a solid wood starter or affordable uke, whether acoustic or acoustic/electric, I would recommend this one. It was nicely built and came with a case and accessories. If I were able to purchase multiples right now, I wouldn't have returned it. I did not plug it into an amp, however, so I cannot comment on the electronics. This one also has an adjustable rod in the neck, something not all inexpensive ukes offer. I simply tried it out, checked the frets and action, looked over the finish and build and played a few songs to hear the tone and sustain (all good). Only issue is I didn't have a big enough budget for all.

Un ukelele bien construido, bonito, bastante cómodo de tocar, que afina muy bien y que suena más que decentemente tanto de forma acústica como amplificado.Los accesorios (correa, púas, cuerdas) son un plus, al igual que la incorporación de los pines para colgarlo y el afinador incluido, aunque la funda podría ser un poco más acolchada.Plenamente satisfecho con la compra.

Premetto,che suono la chitarra da 30anni. Quindi,mi accorgo se uno strumento è fatto bene ed ha una buona sonorità. Erano anni che volevo togliermi lo sfizio dell'ukulele e così dopo varie ricerche, informazioni prese in rete,video e recensioni,mi ero fatto un'idea abbastanza precisa di cosa cercavo. Tra i tanti,ho scelto questo Aklot. Più che per l'estetica che,ammetto,visto da cellulare non mi ha conquistato immediatamente,lo scelto per la qualità,per la costruzione e per l'attenzione ai dettagli.Arrivato ieri(con un giorno di ritardo,ma non per colpa di Bolo,ma delle nostre amate Poste italiane che sono sempre sinonimo di"puntualità e precisione"..........),mi sono stupito subito; è bellissimo! Il legno è meraviglioso al tatto,il colore è bellissimo e me ne sono subito innamorato. Piccolo,leggero,ma al tatto risulta robusto,la cassa è solida e si percepisce che è costruito con qualità.Una rapida accordatura resa semplicissima dall'accordatore presente e si parte con le primissime note.... Il manico è piccolo e gli spazi ristretti sul Soprano,ma per me che ho dimestichezza con gli strumenti a corde,non fatico a"prendere le misure".... due ore di allenamento e memorizzazione di accordi e nuovo approccio e ieri sera,già suonavo le prime canzoni di ogni tipo.Il suono è piacevole,caldo,armonioso. Non si sentono stonature o vibrazioni o risonanze strane. Il volume non è altissimo,perché OVVIAMENTE stiamo parlando di una cassa armonica molto piccola, però accompagna bene la voce. Insomma.... Sono molto soddisfatto del mio acquisto e del prodotto in sé. Lo consiglio molto sia a chi vuole imparare,perché risulta molto semplice e sia anche a chi suona già ma vuole qualcosa di diverso,ed ha piacere di cimentarsi in un nuovo mondo. Straconsigliato!!
