5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzix sidekick
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is a fabulous little machine. I already have the sizzix big shot which I bought about 20years ago and it’s still going strong but I wanted something smaller to keep on my desk to cut out the smaller dies which I use a lot more now as I make mini journalsThe cutting plates are very strong and don’t bend like other brands. The plates are 6and a half cm wide or 2 and a half inches wide so it is small. But it’s is value for money, it’s light and its portable. To cut intricate dies the machine handled it well I only had to pass the ‘sandwich’ through once and it cut perfectly first time didn’t need a shim. I’m really pleased with it and I can see myself using this a lot. I would recommend if you are new to crafting and want to have a try at die cutting , this little machine would be great, but if you want to cut bigger dies for say A5 cards I would invest in a larger machine, depends what you need to cut either way Sizzix is a reliable brand I have always used their products without a problem you get a 2 year extended warranty if you register your product online but I can see this product lasting many more years Nice to have thought just in case.
5.0 out of 5 stars Small but very useful, delivered from USA within the estimated timeframe.
Present for my wife, she loves it, great for cutting with dies for card making and for embossing, but small enough not to clutter up work area.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition
I already have the plus and the normal so it was a natural choice to go for the sidekick when needing a desktop die cutter, as I'm pretty pleased with the quality of the others.Went for the black one as it was cheaper at the time, and it works just as well as the others.Suction depends on the surface, on my glass mat it performs well bit I tend to use it on my cutting mat (coz I'm lazy and can't be bothered to move everything) but as long as you keep your hand on it it's ok
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little machine
Very impressed! I have had a sizzix big shot plus for several years, and wanted something to hand, for cutting small sentiments for cards, without having to lift the extremely heavy machine down off the shelf each time. I was not expecting it to cut so well, being very light. The dies all cut cleanly on one pass through! Normally, with my big shot plus, I have to pass them through several times in different positions to get a clean cut.
5.0 out of 5 stars it works well.
Compact and easy to use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great embossing machine for a beginner
Great embossing machine for a beginner. Bought as a gift for a tweenage girl, and she was very impressed! She has shown a lot of interest in arts and crafts over the years, and loved my Big Shot Machine whenever we used it together, so I thought that this was perfect for beginner level embossing, and to allow her to see whether this is something she enjoys working with. She was over the moon, and got it out of the box right away. The starter kit has everything you need to start experimenting right away, although a few more small die cutters and embossing folders were added for some variety. The great thing is, this machine works with such a variety of branded dies and folders that you can top up your collection pretty easily- as long as the width is ok. (Small dies/ folders only will fit this machine)The machine itself feels very robust, and i think the working parts inside are metal- it is certainly pretty heavy considering the small size, so I assume this to be the case. The plates provided are pretty robust, and as long as they are turned regularly, I'm sure will last for years to come.
5.0 out of 5 stars small compact and I love it
*having both big shot and sidekick and must say most of the time I am using the sidekick as it is more compact and it is very portable*sucking power is not great though and I usually put it on glass cutting board and it does the trick*bought extended cutting plate to be able to use slightly longer dies*short sides of cutting plates is not straight but shaped so it is taking away about 1cm of cutting possibilities*it is easy to take it with me anywhere which is a bonus and it lightweight*I usually keep a nice coloured or patterned packaging and have a relaxing sessions of cutting out shapes for scrapbooking/journaling and at the same time do some recycling and get lot of die cuts for free :)
1.0 out of 5 stars Total garbage
This product is cheap and nasty Chinese rubbish. How Bolo can allow this tripe to be sold on the platform is beyond me. It now resides in the recycling bin

Maravilhoso.
Awesome little kit!
I opened the box the minute it arrived so I could try this out. The Sidekick is so easy to operate that I was using it within minutes! This kit is such a great way to start since it includes not only the machine but also a set of 8 dies, two embossing folders, and set of 7 stamps. With this one purchase, I have what I need to get started making cards! Note that this is a SMALL machine meant for small projects (perfect for greeting cards). If you are looking for something to cut or emboss for larger projects, you'll need a larger machine. Be sure to read the product description and size specs. Overall, this was a fantastic value considering everything that comes with it! I'm very happy with the purchase.
A Little Workhorse
After nearly 15 years, my original Sidekick had to be replaced after I dropped it...twice. I don't think I could go without this little workhorse. It's the perfect size for tucking into a bag for crops, using on a tray-table while on the sofa, and for those little dies. While I have a BigShot and Cuttlebug, I mostly use this diecutting machine. It's very sturdy; the suction on this one seems to be better than the original; and the cutting plates last for years with care (I use one plate for cutting, flipping if it starts to get a warped). When one plate is completey scratched up, I switch so that a new plate is now getting hit with the metal blade. When both are really scratched up, I just keep flipping to avoid warping. I've had my current plates for 3 years now and I use this machine every single day a lot. This is the first time, though, that I've had the mini embossing plate. It's really more like a shim in that it's hard plastic but thinner than the diecutting plate. For some reason, I thought it was going to be more like the rubber mat like the one for my Big Shot. It seems to work okay nonetheless. I miss my red Sidekick but, again, I can't imagine papercrafting without this! The only weird thing with these Sidekicks is you turn the handle the opposite way you think you should (that is, toward you rather than away from you). I've turned the machine around and around and I still have to roll the handle toward me.
Tamanho ideal
Apesar do tamanho e como sou iniciante, o tamanho é ideal. Estou adorando trabalhar com a máquina, irei adquirir mais itens da marca.
