A little stiff on the slider, making it jerky, but should give a little with use. Would have been better with a wheel adjuster, but on the whole, it's fairly well made.

Very useful tool for accurate measuring of various things, well made tool and smooth slide for good accuracy, and the locking part is very good when measuring in difficult positions for reading it.

In the past, I have spent more on digital callipers which were poorer quality than these. A proper vernier like this one never has flat batteries. There is a pleasing mystique in knowing how to measure accurately to a fraction of a millimetre by reading the vernier scale. These callipers read 0 mm when closed (so they zero correctly) and they move smoothly. They have a reassuring solidity. They come in a reasonably protective plastic case, with a bonus steel rule. Far easier to read than the cheap vernier I've had for many years, and far more reliable than the expensive digital ones I've thrown away. Pleased with my purchase.

Rough finish, but reasonable at the price and can be softened with some wet & dry. Not a pro-tool, but suitable for most diy. Seems to do a reasonable measurement. Don't be fooled by the 'thumb screw' - though the description does say it's not a screw. Depth gauge is handy.

Very good quality caliper. Sturdy and precise. Made out of stainless steel hence will keep it's precision for years if taken good care.
