Why did I not get one of these sooner? my MPV has it's oil filter in one of those hard to get at places, right at the front of the engine with little room around it to get a strap type filter remover on and be able to turn it, so after struggling the last couple of years I decided to get the right tool for the job and chose this, still a bit of a fiddle to get it down over the filter but once there just a few short movements on the ratchet handle and it gripped and just a few more it started to undo the filter and it was soon easy to finish the job by hand.It has a few different ways to use it, with the 1/2" drive socket inserted you can use a socket wrench or a spanner, take the socket off and you can use a 3/8" drive, with easy to get at filters this is a doddle to use and for problem filters like mine it makes life a lot easier, good tool, fits different sized filters, well made and it works.

This rusty excuse of a motorcycle filter refused to budge and began to crumble. Hand job, tape, band and socket all looked like heading for a worse outcome.Bought this tool for little money and was delivered super quick. The access behind the Bandit pipes and frame is very small so much so it’s difficult to even pass a filter through. Removed the drive nut and mounted a 1/4 wrench on ratchet tool. Couple of fingers held ratchet on and away couple on wrench. 2 or 3 short pulls and away it turned. So pleased. Cleaned up and put new filter on with bit of oil and 1/2 hand turn. Suzuki say 2 turns which will crush rubber and cause removal issues (Haynes manual says 1/2 turn). Anyhow, this was such a good tool for my precarious situation!!!

Useful for removing oil filters that have been put on tighter than they should have been. I'd get it just to have it for the odd occasion you might need it. However, don't use it to install the filter (as it will be too tight). Its easy to use but the pins are a bit loose so it needs careful "offering up" to the filter; when you apply torque to undo, it clamps onto the filter body. If the pins were a bit stiffer, it would be easier to fit on the filter, then apply pressure to remove the filter.

I have no idea why some people have left 1 star reviews. It is simple to use and does the job as intended. Removed a very stubborn filter with ease. Good quality.

I’m sure this is a great tool for others. But for an MT09 bike. Don’t bother. It couldn’t get to it as it was to bulky
4.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't fit oil filters of 68 mm
I used this to undo the oil filter cover on my Nissan Almera 2.2 diesel N16 hatchback and it worked great but when it came to my son's Hyundai i10 which had a 68 mm diameter metal oil canister it just wouldn't stay tight. In the end I resorted to Plus Gas penetrating oil and a chain wrench which allowed it to loosen. The reason I didn't give it a five is because it says from 68 mm and although it goes down to that size, it just won't tighten and you then have a problem is your car has a smaller oil filter canister. Also, there is a knack to operating it: hold the shaft of the socket wrench and rotate the tool clockwise or anticlockwise until it clamps the filter, then don't let the shaft move on the ratchet movement or it will undo and you have to go through it all again to tighten it up.

Produkt ist wertig und gut verarbeitet, toll ist der inkludierte Steckaufsatz für verschieden große Ratschen o.ä.Je fester der Filter sitzt und je fester man demnach zum lösen drehen muss, umso mehr drückt sich das Werkzeug in die Filterwand und rutscht damit nicht ab. Der Filter lässt sich so zuverlässig lösen.Man kann mit dem Kauf meiner Meinung nach nichts falsch machen. Ein tolles Produkt zum kleinen Preis, das einem jede Menge Ärger, Schweiß und Anstrengung erspart.
