5.0 out of 5 stars This thing is simply amazing - takes time to master, but well worth the effort
The Cambridge cut throat has a solid build, looks stylish, and feels good in the hand and the shave quality is amazing, skin is smooth as a babies backside after I finishing shaving with it and face feels really clean and fresh. Comes with a pouch to store and transport the razor in.I have used regular razors all of my shaving life, starting with the old disposable bic razors, moving up to a Mach3 (3 blades) and then a Hydro (5 blades) and watching as I pay more and more money for the cartridges as well as slowing coming to understand the waste stream that I generate when I throw away the cartridges after use as they cannot be recycled and simply go to the landfill (think about how many men and women use these to remove body hair and you start to get an idea of the problem). So I tentatively approached the straight razor both from a money saving exercise (razor blades are cheap compared to the cartridges) and from a sustainability point of view (nothing goes to the landfill) as at first glance, it would appear to be fiendishly difficult to do, with significant scope for a visit to the hospital with a cut throat...However, having now used it for two weeks, I can say that the marketing messages used for cartridge type razors (more blades are better, each successive blade shaves a little bit closer, moisturises your face as you shave, etc.) are a load of hooey. One blade is all you need. Period. A couple of things to understand here if you are reading this and considering a straight razor:1. Snapping razor blades in half and inserting into the handle can be difficult at first and should never be attempted with wet fingers.2. Budget 15 minutes to have a shave, you need time to do it properly, try and rush and you will regret it.3. You will cut yourself when you first start using it, as using a straight razor requires more attention and skill than using a cartridge type razor.4. STICK WITH IT, as you slowly acquire the fine motor skills to use the razor, you will cut yourself less and less.5. when you start, the problem areas are anywhere on your face that has an angle (jaw line and right under your nose).Using a straight razor as a beginner should ideally only be attempted after a strong cup of coffee in the morning and never when hung over.A few weeks in and I am getting much better at this, admittedly, still have a problem getting to the hairs right under my nose (nick myself once every two days or so), but it has improved dramatically since when I first started (multiple cuts on face, ridicule from my peers) and now wonder why I didn't make the switch sooner.Last but by no means least, you can buy 100 razor blades for around ten quid from Bolo, which gives you 200 blades to use (remember you snap them in half) which covers your shaving needs for up to four years (assuming one new blade every week), compared to spending twenty two quid for 8 cartridges that last two months. so basically, you are looking at around 5 pence per razor blade compared to 3 quid per cartridge, for a better quality shave.Yes, it takes longer to shave, but I have come to enjoy the morning ritual, from a cost perspective, its a no brainer.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quality item & well priced
I read many reviews before buying this razor. I was put off many after reading about poorly made products and ill fitting designs. This was the one I choose and I am not disappointed. It is well made and feels great in one's hand. I did have to buy the blades separately, but the fitted fine and felt very secure whilst shaving. This was my first attempt at shaving with a barber's razor, and enevitably I did cut myself! However, after slowing down my shave and taking more time and precision with the process I now only have to shave every other day to maintain a smooth looking complextion.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fake leather, a bit tatty but still built well real wood and stainless steel
Didn’t come with razor blades, gimmicky with all the certificates
5.0 out of 5 stars "The Cambridge Cutthroat: Slaying Stubble with Style!"
Sharp as wit and sturdy as a medieval castle, the Cambridge Cutthroat is a shaving companion that means business. Handcrafted from stainless steel and Missanda hardwood, it's like wielding a knight's weapon against unwanted stubble. Plus, it laughs in the face of water, staying rust-free no matter how steamy your shower gets. Tested to perfection, it's the shave buddy you never knew you needed – reliable, rugged, and ready to tackle even the toughest of beards.* Blades sold separately but you can pick some up for a few quid.
5.0 out of 5 stars Achieve the perfect beard
I've never used a razon like this before, usually just a regular razor, I work in the army and the policy has been lifted for soldiers to have beards now, this type of razor I feel is the perfect tool required to achieve the desired look.
3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but not the best I've owned
It's lovely looking, the wooden handle and chrome metal work is very nice. As is the leather pouch to store it in. But it doesn't align the blade as well as other shavettes I've owned. Once clamped shut it holds the blade fine, but the blade does have a tendency to move slightly when closing the arms.

4.0 out of 5 stars First cut throat razor
My first cut throat razor so I have nothing to compare it too and I’m still learning. I haven’t cut myself yet though, the blades are easy to change, and it feels nice in my hand. Seems to be working nicely, so far.

Enkel att använda
Den ger en lyxig känsla i trä. Allt funkar super.
