This whistle is so loud that it can actually damage your ears if you blow it too forcefully or too close to your ears. I learned this the hard way when I gave it a try, and my ears were ringing for a while afterward. Very pleased with these. They are lightweight, they do the job and they look good. I hang one on the back door handle and one on the front door handle and put them on every time I go outside then I can use them to summon help if I fall and can’t get up

I have been getting a bit disappointed with Bolo lately - it seems that nearly every purchase from here turns out to be a load of rubbish from china, some cheap plastic tat that you just wish you hadn't bothered with. Every time I read a description and believe it I feel I was deceived when this cheap cr4p arrives in the mail looking not too much like the picture I fell for on the site!Well what about this product then? Two whistles...surely you can't go wrong?I suppose they could sound terrible, they could be too quiet or just weak and not suitable for the task at hand?Not this time!These whistles are absolutely BRILLIANT!!!THEY ARE VERY and I mean V-E-R-Y LOUD!!!!LOUD!LOUD!LOUD!I have not heard a whistle this loud ever before. If there was ever an emergency situation, someone lost on the mountains or woods, or injured and in need of drawing anyone's attention then these would be the whistle you really would want to have on you. Could absolutely definitely be a life saving device to be carrying.That fact alone is enough for me to be very glad I chose this particular whistle./ The fact that they come as a pair is just a huge bonus. For me it means that me and my partner can have one each, or I give one to my son and partner if they go for a walk as they like to do.If you are looking for a whistle for just about ANY purpose, look no further. I was looking for a lightweight loud whistle and was not too bothered about quality. I am a Scout Leader and at times we have activities in forests with dense trees. I needed a whistle that could be heard from some distance to gather the group. This whistle does the trick just super. The only downside is the colour of the cord that comes with it. If it was available in in a bright orange or neon yellow I would give it a 110% rating but it reaches a fair 100% rating as my first two criteria were met to perfection. Lightweight and Load

I tested it and it is so loud for a few seconds it hurt my own ears.I put one whistle on my key ring straightaway as if I need to draw attention, call for help, it is so loud I will be heard far away.The other whistles are for emergency backpacks.Very happy with my purchase.
