I got this after returning the Daewoo version, the lid was wobbly, the coating was rough, with bits that felt like they could come off into your food. This on the other hand is smooth Teflon coated, easy to clean. It is very shallow and you have to be careful not to overfill.I used two eggs,a bit of milk and grated cheese and filled this one and a half times.I did find that it completely cooked the bottom side anyone top was still white, therefore after 6 minutes or so I had to turn them an cook for another 3 to 4 minutes to get the finished product. The size of the omelette is enough for one person, the taste is good .Design wise be warned that the whole item gets pretty hot during use,I would not advise trying to clean it immediately after use, but tolet it cool first.Overall compared to the frying pan it’s an improvement on that there is less diameter to turn and looks more appetising than my frying pan efforts.Worth getting if you’re like me and like your kitchen gadgets, this one won’t be gathering dust.
5.0 out of 5 stars Effortless Omelettes Every Time – Perfect for Quick Meals!
I have to say, this omelette maker has completely changed the way I cook breakfast! Gone are the days of standing over the hob trying to flip an omelette without making a mess. With the Salter Dual Omelette Maker, I just mix up my ingredients, pour them into the deep fill plates, close the lid, and let it work its magic. In about 5 minutes, I have perfectly cooked omelettes with no fuss. The non-stick plates are a dream, making clean-up super easy – no scrubbing or soaking needed. I also love that I can make two omelettes at once, so it's perfect for me and my partner when we’re both hungry. It heats up quickly, and I barely need to use any oil, which makes it a healthier option too. Whether you like a simple egg omelette or one packed with cheese, veggies, or even ham, this little gadget gets it just right every time. It’s a kitchen essential if you love a quick, easy, and healthy meal without the hassle!
4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly versatile
I like omelettes but the fact the manufacturer says you can make various other items quickly in this maker was why I bought it. They say you can make pastries with it but the official recipes on the Salters website don't include any pastries. Other recipes given are accompanied by photos of food clearly not made been in the omelette maker as the photos show food the wrong shape to fit into it. That said I used by own recipes for cinnamon swirl pastries and cheese and onion pasties and they cooked well. They can't be too fat in shape. My smart meter tells me these cost less than 5p to cook each time. Also used to cook defrosted frozen vegetarian sausage rolls and thanks to a YouTube tutorial fried eggs. So if you look around for recipes and use trial and error it's a versatile product. Really is not stick, and good value for making food for one or two people.
5.0 out of 5 stars Can't live without this product now
I eat 4 eggs everyday and purchased this when our gas meter broke as a temporary solution.I'm not a morning person so boiling eggs in a pan some days was a challenge. This gadget has revolutionised my mornings. The egg cooker comes with a measuring cup so you can choose how you'd like your boiled eggs. The eggs cook much quicker than on the hop and the shell much easier.I've now set this up with a timer (lazy I know) which means my eggs start cooking as I'm waking up which has become a time saver on sleepy mornings.I had intended to donate the egg cooker to charity once my gas was back up on running but there is no way I can get rid of it now. It's definitely worth the money and does the job far better than a pan of water could ever do.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great gadget for eggs
The media could not be loaded. So far so good! Bought it for easy omelettes and fried eggs and I am really very impressed. It is compact, doesn’t take much space in the kitchen and is simple to use.The omelettes are very fluffy and delicious. Each side can take two egg omelette and you preheat it for two minutes one of the lights goes out when it’s hot and you pour the omelette mixture in either or both sides and in approximately 5 minutes it’s done.I also tried with an egg and egg is perfectly cooked to your liking, I don’t like mine too runny so I left it for 3 minutes and it was medium.I would say that I will be using this a lot, yes it’s not huge but if you want a quick snack and don’t want any mess in the kitchen this is just brilliant.Cleaning is very easy as the food does not stick to the hot plates so it’s just a quick wipe down to remove any oily residue.
5.0 out of 5 stars Makes great omelettes.
Has really helped me with making omelettes and does not make any mess. Just know there are no recipes or anything like that included to tell you how many eggs or how much liquid/ingredients to use. It is rather small so you can easily tuck it away into a cupboard when you are not using it.It barely holds three large eggs with a few minor ingredients, so do not overdo it, or otherwise start with two and work your way up. However, I have not had anything overflow, even when I did use three eggs and a bit too much as it does have room and seems to cook everything in an order so it rises into the upper space.Nice to have omelettes done in ten minutes so you can have a quick meal before you start in the morning or a quick snack any other time of the day without spending excessive time working eggs around a pan and all the clean-up or mess involved in trying to fold or flip eggs.
3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't last long!
Received on 26th September.Used 3 times and as you can see from the photo the non stick plates are scorched and everything has stuck. The plates discoloured on 1st use but as the omelettes were well cooked and it was really easy to use, thought I'd give it another go, only got worse so have given up and I'm returning it for a refund.
5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use
This is so easy to use you can be eating your first omelette in no time. Make sure not to use too many eggs though or it will spill out. I have found 2 medium size eggs plus fillings will fill both sides enough for 2 omelettes as they fluff out quite a bit when cooking. They do sink a little after taking them out though.
Not adapted for Australia.
Sadly I purchased this from Bolo Australia and I can't use it as it's adapter is clearly English. Disappointed to say the least, why sell in Australia is not equipped for us !!! Personally I'd like to return this product as it's useless to me.
Omelette maker
I find this omelette maker reasonably good . The only disappointment is that it came with an English electrical plug. Had to get an adapter to get it to work in Australia. apart from that, it seems to work okay.
GREAT PRODUCT
Great product....but sadly did not have an Australian electric plug so have had to purchase an Aussie plug.Fast delivery considering it came from overseas. Thank you.
Wrongly advertised
This product has a UK electric plug that’s needs an adaptor to function in AustraliaIf I knew this I would never have ordered it!
Easy to use, not good quality
Easy to use. A bit expensive. The hot plate burnt after couple of months.
