5.0 out of 5 stars Really good item
I really like this product really good taste and so nice to eat really good product
5.0 out of 5 stars Some of the tastiest salmon I've ever had, worth every penny
I’m not a huge fan of salmon as a rule but this product might just convert me! I love tinned tuna but have never really eaten tinned salmon and wasn’t sure what to expect, but I liked that this is the proper wild stuff and sustainably fished which is what ultimately convinced me to try it. The first thing I noticed when I opened the tin is the colour - this looks similar to tuna and a world apart from the aggressive pink/orange stuff you normally see. I feel like this just goes to show how fish farms are pumping the salmon full of dye and I was reassured that this really is the proper fish. I started out by using it in a poke bowl - stirred in a bit of soy-based dressing once it was drained and then piled it onto some plain rice along with mounds of different raw and cooked veggies, all drizzled over with sriracha mayo. And boy was it delicious! The salmon has a bit of saltiness to it and is just really flavourful and meaty, the perfect protein hit with my rice and veggies and left me feeling simultaneously satisfied and virtuous. One tin was enough to do 2 very generous bowls. The cost of this works out around £5 per tin (9 x 160g tins for £44.55 at time of review) which seems like a lot initially, but compare to the mushroom poke bowl I purchased from Lidl last week for £3.99 which had no meat and was half the size of those I made myself. Not only that, it’s a great way to reap the considerable health benefits of oily fish and to support a company who are working reponsibly and sustainably. When I ordered this for review I didn’t think for a moment I would ever be back to buy more, but I’m pretty sure I will be topping up my supply when these are finished.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great value
Great value for the quantity and quality. What more can I say!? Great, fresh flavour and an incredible price for wild (not farmed) salmon.
1.0 out of 5 stars Taste was horrible
The taste of the salmon in a can and the smell was 100% not what i enjoyed and i had to chuck the lot.
3.0 out of 5 stars Ok but way too expensive
This tinned salmon is not too bad, I mixed it with mayonnaise and some condiments and it did make for some nice sandwiches and pasta but I’ve had better for cheaper so considering these work out around £5 per tin I would recommend getting a cheaper one which would taste about the same and save you a bit of money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good
Fish4Ever's canned salmon and I must say, While the initial surprise of finding a solid chunk of meat inside one of the cans caught me off guard, it quickly became apparent that this was no ordinary salmon. 5.0 out of 5 stars Chunky great tasting salmon
When I opened the first tin of this salmon there was a large pink chunk of salmon. When I drained the water off I didn't lose any flakes of salmon down the drain like I usually would. You can really see the difference with this salmon and how it is of a high quality. One of my sons loves salmon, both smoked and fillets. He has never liked tinned salmon though. He saw that this salmon was chunky, rather than greyish flakes and decided to try some. He really enjoyed it and wants to eat it againThe tins have a long shelf life and are very versatile. So far we have used them in a pasta salad, in sandwiches and with couscous. They are very versatile and handy to keep in the cupboard for a quick meal.I love the sustainable credentials of this salmon and the company. It is very important to me and worth paying more for.Overall this is a very good tinned salmon and I definitely recommend it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great salmon
So I like me my canned fish especially my tuna and salmon, but when I buy tuna or salmon from the supermarket they are often greyish or barely pink flakes in a can, nothing like the pictures on the label or adverts. However, these Fish4Ever Pink Pacific Salmon cans are something else.A case of 9 cans arrived, I cracked one open, and, inside was a solid chunk of meat. None of this flaky pinkish nonsense, just a lump of meat with a hue unlike that seen in other brands. However, ultimately it's taste that counts, and this, man, this is amongst some of the finest canned salmon I've eaten. It's almost (but not quite) as good as the fresh stuff I've had in packed out seafood restaurants in China or Singapore. This is a superior salmon.Fish4Ever has some fantastic ethical credentials behind them, this and the quality of the fish they source, all adds up to an awesome package. You can even enter deets on their website to see where your fish came from.Yes it's expensive, but as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for!
