I've reared a number of schools of younger fish, predominantly on this as it seems to be the one which offers the right amount of protein for sustained growth. It works very well in the spring/summer/autumn months, but I'd hang fire in the winter when the fish don't feed as much. It is more expensive, but it does work very well for those smaller or medium sized fish. And the bigger ones will snaffle it up too when it's on offer!

Pellets much smaller than expected but perfect for fry and smaller fish. Purchased as some of my smaller goldfish couldn't handle the nishkoi small pellets (in the picture above). Only let down is that only they don't seem to float with 90% sinking to the bottom almost immediately which makes removing uneaten food hard to remove, might try presoaking them to see if that improves boyancy. Price has been lowered since the other review and is fairly competitive once you factor in next day shipping
