5.0 out of 5 stars Great kettle - lots of positives
We had a glass kettle from a leading brand with fancy blue lighting. After the fancy lights failed and the glass got scratched with the sharp metal inside the badly designed lid and the handle became wobbly we decided to try this model as an alternative.Positives:* Seems very well made - nice solid feel to the handle.* Very light, strong stainless steel.* Good lid, hinged and clicks into place reassuringly.* Boils a mug full of water (300ml) in just over 1 minute.* Pours well.* No plastic in direct contact with the boiling water.* Great value.Might be negatives to some people:1. Lower power than a fast boil.We wanted a lower power as we tend to boil smaller quantities and our electricity comes from a solar inverter so this is less of a load and places less strain on the system. The lower wattage means it will take twice as long as a 3kW kettle. A couple of mugs of water will be about two and a half minutes.2. No way of seeing how full it is with lid closed. In the past we have found those plastic tubes that show the level of the water end up leaking. If you want to save time and money simply empty the cup / teapot of cold water into this kettle and you should be spot in with no fancy fill level tube to leak.
4.0 out of 5 stars It’s a electric kettle
It does the job but does take its time to boil a full kettle apart from that it works well and does the job
5.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but nice quality
Cheap but nice quality
1.0 out of 5 stars Sounds like a truck backing up
The media could not be loaded. If you want a kettle to sound like an articulated lorry in reverse then this is the one for you.If you also enjoy burning your fingers when refilling post-boil due to the opening button being directly above the spout, and dropping it continually as it lodges itself in the housing, you can’t go wrong.Personally I prefer the ‘on’ button to be at the base, but here it is subtly placed above the handle so you have to use two hands to dock it then turn it on.In fact, almost everything about this kettle is wrong and immensely irritating. But it does boil water.
3.0 out of 5 stars Loud and still smells of plastic
I bought this kettle as I do not want to use plastic ones. But I do not understand why, when it heats up, there is a strong smell of plastics. I have the feeling that comes from the bottom, where it connects with the black plastic base. This let me wonder about the quality of the materials. It is also quite loud and a bit slow.
5.0 out of 5 stars does not last long
Was not keen on this item and it did not last long and I had to get another.
5.0 out of 5 stars For a very cheap kettle this is great!
It does the job and looks quite smart. It boils at a glacial pace but I'm probably spoilt by the top of the range fast boil kettles I've been using- all of them stopped working after a year or less, however, so they weren't worth the extra money. This seems the better buy.
4.0 out of 5 stars stainless steel
bought this kettle today it did have a couple of small dents in it but for the price I can't complain also it is very quiet and boils quite quick looks good too very happy with it.I have to retract my thoughts on this kettle after using it for a few days it has become very noisy and there is a funny taste when making a brew going to throw it out
