5.0 out of 5 stars Give good high pressure, easy to use
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Used for swaging stainless steel cables with copper ferrules. Being hydraulic they are of course fairly heavy which can make them awkward to use and it can be tricky to get the flats lined us exactly as you want but once you have them lined up you can crank on good and hard (so long as you had your shredded wheat that morning!). Decent range of dies which fit easily and they come with spare seals for the hydraulics. As with most tools like this probably best in their mid range. The real question being do you need something so heavy duty, and hence heavy, for the job or would swaging pliers be enough? If you need the extra power, go for it, they're good.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid and made to last
Nice piece of kit - good and solid, not at all flimsy or plasticky...amazing for the money! Comes with a good set of dies and replacement seals. The instructions even explain how to change the oil, so it's obviously been made with maintenance in mind. Exploded diagrams in the instruction book are also great to see! I've bought a lot of effluent-inspired tools in my time and it's a rare delight when something decent like this arrives in the post.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great tool works well but hard to handle
Due to the way the handles are arranged when open getting the crimp in line then pushing the handles especially on smaller wire crimps is a tad awkward. The heads are okay as well but the labels are hard to read and you have no place for the set that are in the jaws so you have to keep swapping then back in when you put the tool away.
5.0 out of 5 stars Value for money
Very good value for the money. Even though it only does from 4mm2 to 70mm2 its a solid tool and easy to use, even with one hand.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice feel and easy to use
Unfortunately the product failed the second time I used it. The refund was simple and professionally dealt with.
5.0 out of 5 stars Crimper
Great item well made, value for money easy to use
1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't do the job
Solidly built but the dies are too big so you don't get a tight crimp. Maybe calibrated for AWG rather than mm2 but not fit for purpose. Returned.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy little crimper
I rarely need a crumpet and can't justify spending hundreds when this little hand operated one works great for the occasional crimp
Works well
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } Very handy tool! I’ve only used it 3 times, but it’s been great so far. The sticker on the knob seems to be backwards from what the function is - says “close” when the pressure is to be released. Not a big deal, I just took the sticker off. I also wish the crimper dies were labeled more clearly - maybe I’ll just colour code them with a paint marker… I also wish there was another 2 cut outs in the carry case so the tool could be stored with no dies loaded in.Overall I would buy it again!
Professional results at a great price!
We've used these to make battery cables for a few different campers and they've worked great! They seem to have good crimping power, making lug installation really easy. The dies are all marked with the wire gauge and seem to be accurate. Very happy with the purchase!

Worked great for me
I have a fleet of twenty older dodge 2500's for plowing, and the battery terminals are always an issue. I replaced a ton of wire ends this fall and it worked amazing. Works great for the price, I wish I had this toll 20 years ago.
Fantastic tool.
I was needing to replace the plug on my E.V. charger—the car end, not the supply end. That involves slipping wires into pins, and then crimping the pins to hold the wires. I tried my bolt cutter-type crimpers, with partial success. There are two different diameters to these pins, and the bolt cutter-type didn’t go small enough. This new hydraulic style did a fantastic job. A nice variety of sizes. Plus, a lot less physical exertion, which makes for a cleaner crimp and a lot less shaking of the wire/pin while the crimping is happening.
