This blood pressure monitor is excellent and very easy to use. I have paired it with the Withings app on my smart phone and all readings appear there. Readings also show on the monitor itself so you don’t have to make use of the app. Delighted with my purchase.

I had been researching on a good BPM system for my mum to replace her current cheap unknown brand system that required charging every 2 days. There was nothing smart about it as she had to write down her readings.What I wanted for her was a longer lasting battery and a well known brand for accuracy and reliability because she will be using it everyday. Most systems I have found online are AA battery operated (not ideal) until I came across Withings via Youtube and Bolo. Not only it provided a chargeable port with up to 6 month long battery, I was a bit blown away by the incorporation of a smart technology that can be paired with a phone.After the initial setup, this device can take readings and automatically recorded in the Withings' Health Mate app and also Apple's Health app. So my mum will never have to write anything down. After the blood pressure reading, it would display the readings with a colour code from green, amber to red for severity of the blood pressure reading. I would say it's very accurate as I had tested it on myself several times with all normal readings, but a little high for my mum, which is expected given her condition. The Health Mate app also has an option to email the readings from selected date range to your GP practice.The only minor thing I would say that they could improve in their next iteration is to display all three SYS, DIA and pulse together at the same time on the screen. Currently it displays the three readings individually one after another. But one can simply visit the app on the phone to check the last reading. I think you can also check the last reading on the device itself, but I haven't figured it out as there is literally only one button on the device.There is support for multiuser, but I never have to use it, so can't really comment on this feature.It's a little on the expensive side, but my mum will be making good use of it. At the time of purchase, it was on discount on both Bolo and Withings website. Now it seems it's back to full price on Bolo, but you can get it cheaper directly from Withings at the time of this review.

This is more of a health monitoring system rather than just a single device that tells you one thing.It comes with a cell phone app that does all of the Bluetooth/WIFI connecting for you, finds out who you are and sets up a free Healthcare account for you. It collects some other brief details, like your height and weight and that's it! Setup was an absolute doddle! Everything connected first time. No errors.From that point onwards, whenever you blood pressure is taken, those details are immediately uploaded by the device to your phone app, and you can see what your latest reading was. You can see that on the device too, if you have not got your phone handy, via the clear, dot matrix screen. I like that a lot.Not only that, once it uploads (which is immediate if your phone is in range) it keeps a permanent history so that you can see trends over time. And you can link that same app with other devices that you can get like watches that count your daily steps. It all gets fed into the same software.The app is called Health Mate and it also calculates your BMI, records your heart rate, fat mass, records your workouts, nutrition (logging what you eat), daily steps, health insights, trends (based on real measurements over time). And you can share your results with friends or even your doctor. Now that is a great idea! Worried about your readings? Just share them with your health professional.You can buy watches, and "fit-bit" style devices, wi-fi weighing scales, and hi-tech thermometers. Most will update and record data into the same app. Really interesting and useful stuff. The app looks great too. They have obviously thought about it carefully and produced a really professional looking and easy-to-use app.I always think you can tell the quality of a device by its packaging. The packaging of this device is not quite up to Apple/iPhone standards, but it really isn't far off! Very high quality and worth keeping.My device came almost fully charged (85%) (so you can use it immediately) and it took less than 10 minutes to top it up. In use, it is very powerful and squeezes you arm very tightly - at least as much as the automated devices that your own GP uses. That is very impressive for a comparatively tiny device.I also chose the hard shell case (pictured, which is extra. but worth it, in my opinion). I'm also going to buy a watch.I am really happy I chose this over the CCC options (Cheap, Cheerful & Chinese). Yes! I know it is more expensive but it is much higher quality and you get soooo much more, plus it all just works and it is in English! Bravo! Highly recommended.

Consistently showed very inaccurate readings. For example a reading of 158/105 on the Withings BPM Connect was actually closer to135/86 when compared immediately with my doctor's manual sphygmomanometer, as well as another device (an Omron) in the surgery. After some Googling I see that many other people complain about the inaccuracy of this device, and have been doing so for a few years. Not good for a home-medical product.Despite being over the 30 day return period Bolo kindly allowed me to return the device (along with a separately purchased case) for a full refund. I bought instead the Omron Evolv which is way more accurate.In short, avoid this product.

It’s got a bit of cost on it but I brought it to go with the Withings connected scales I have - I didn’t need yet another all!App integration is great, reliability of shipping results to Withings also 100%.The hardest part when you first start using any blood pressure monitor is getting on the right way up and arm in the right bit of the strap or in the right loop. Withings give you a pictorial card on how to do this and a clear video in the app just in case.After a couple of uses it just becomes second nature.The clear LEDs to give you results is awesome and I like the ability to choose between 1 or 3 tests to get more data of how your blood pressure is doing it.Docs were all on board with the choice too.If you want a smart one from a renowned and approved brand - this one ticks the boxes as far as I’m concerned.
Accurate, but could be easier to read
I've tried a variety of home blood pressure cuffs and this is definitely my favorite. My first was one with a unit that would sit on a table, then the hose connection to the actual cuff. Solid, accurate, but a clunky pain that made me less likely to check my blood pressure (I have treatment resistant, idiopathic hypertension so frequent checks are smart). Second one was a handy little wrist unit, but accuracy was a little hit and miss and it was very finicky about positioning. This is best of the first two. Normal BP cuff positioning so that part is easy, but a light and slim package that makes it a breeze to use. I'm not taking a star off for it, but in the effort to design pretty, Apple-esque devices, the result has been a screen that isn't super readable. I'm young so no big deal, but I could see older folks having some difficulty with reading their results. Otherwise, I'm definitely loving it and think it's been a worthwhile splurge (because let's face it, this is definitely the priciest consumer BP cuff around).
Just what I needed!
I love this little machine, download the app, simple setup and we’re on the go. Daily BP measurements I can send them in a spreadsheet to my doctor or just have the info when he requires it. It’s integration with other health apps is good too, this little machine makes a big difference in quality of life for me.
