5.0 out of 5 stars Quality construction, powerful, quiet, good value!
There are a lot of options for compressors of this size and type but I am pleased with the choice I made. It's powerful for a compact machine and fits neatly under my workbench. As it has two cylinders, this compressor halves the workload of alternative single cylinder models I've used and is subsequently much quieter whilst managing to produce consistent air pressure.I use mine mainly for airbrush painting and it's more than capable. I suspect it will easily drive much harder working tools than this without issues. Operating it is simple with well presented controls and easy to read gauge. The large air tank also eases the workload on the cylinders further reducing any noise as it isn't running constantly to feed your air tools. It's clear this compressor is well made, feels like good quality and definitely does what I wanted it to do and more.To me this represents really good value from a well known brand, it arrived quickly, very well packaged and without issues.I'd happily recommend this machine especially for use inside, where portability, power and quiet operation is important. A good buy!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great compressor, quiet
I bought this for a staple gun for upholstery. It’s great. Easy to use (I watched a video online) & quiet. I use it indoors in my dining room. For my staple gun I find that once it’s reached pressure (a couple of minutes) it turns itself off & will only come on again once I’ve done quite a few staples. It comes back on for about 30 seconds to reach pressure again & then goes quiet. Easy to move around - the handle is great & it’s small enough to store under the stairs. I did see a review where one chap had 2 that arrived damaged (a bit dented). I checked mine & noticed the filter was a bit dented. I contacted Hyundai via Bolo & their customer service was excellent. They sent a new filter immediately & I think it arrived the next day. The electric cable is really short but I think it’s for safety reasons. So it needs to be placed right near a plug. But if you get a long air hose it’s fine as the hose moves with you around what you’re doing. Really pleased with this as a first compressor for my upholstery.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value for money and remarkably quiet.
My last domestic air compressor was deafening, especially in the confines of a small workshop. This unit is remarkably quiet, as shown on videos where you can easily hear the presenter talking normally while the unit is running. It seems to be well put together and with a two year warranty one can't really wrong. It just remains to see how long it lasts for! One tip to potential buyers is to realise that this a very small unit and might struggle with some applications like spraying and larger nail guns.
4.0 out of 5 stars Castings have thin walls around the threaded holes.
Pros:-Low weight, very quiet for a piston type compressor( my upstairs neighbour cannot hear it operating even at the quietest time of the day, ie 2 to 6am :) which is great because i tend to be a virtual nightbird, lol!, )overall build quality is good.Price is very competitive. Good thickness of paint on the tank, Drain valve is really good and well placed on the tank.Cons:- Euro 'quick release' air outlet makes a generally really nice unit far less useful 'out of the box' than a lot of its competitors. A simple '1/4 inch BSP' threaded hole with a standard double 'male'' 1/4 inch BSP spigot would be much more useful, as this size thread is pretty much standard in this class of compressor. An item of concern is the wall thickness of the castings . From what i could see, you need to be VERY careful not to accidentally overtighten any components of the air regulation unit if they ever need replacing. The power ' push-pull' switch is WAY too stiff to operate with just your thumb and fingers, it either needs the size/diameter increasing considerably, or the mechanism made a lot less stiff to operate( the current switch is small in diameter with sharp 'knurls' that cut into your digits painfully when enough force is applied to pull it into the 'power on' position. The other main bugbear is the ridiculously short power cable ( barely 1 metre in length) which means an extension cable is needed 95% of the time.Minor 'niggles' :- Could not find any 'dump valve' fitted, but the tank drain tap works easily for the same operation.Overall:-Great value for money. 'Refilling' is very quick when the compressor is in use ( in my case to run 1 or 2 airbrushes at about 20PSI ). Living in a small groundfloor flat, size and noise level are quite important, and it meets those restrictions very well.If the switch was easier to operate, and a sensible length of power cord was supplied i would have given it 5 stars, but the issues mentioned above sadly means i can only give the product 3 stars. :((
5.0 out of 5 stars Portable
This was recommended on a woodworker forum. It’s quiet and can power a pin nailer
5.0 out of 5 stars Compressor
Is a small compressor but very silent and obviously is big enough for things around the house. Very impressed with how silent is!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great little compressor
Very quiet compared to others. Great for small jobs
5.0 out of 5 stars Near silent running.
Compressor is lightweight and well made. Near silent when running. Hopefully it’ll last longer than my previous compressor that gave up after 1yr.
