    I bought this little conversion kit for an Art Deco granddaughter clock which had long ago lost its original mechanical movement and clockwork chimes. Installation is simple enough. I didn't use the pendulum as it's not visible on my clock and it was fouling on the inside of the case. Fortunately there's a little clip that holds it out of the way and prevents it swinging if not needed.My clock has a rectangular face which is narrower across its width; this meant that I had to cut down the hands (easily done as they are thin metal). The straight ones worked well with the clock's geometric1930s aesthetic but there are also fancy Gothic style ones as well as a pair of simple 'spades', so something to fit most projects. For small mantel clocks etc, you may need to order smaller hands from elsewhere - I think the spindle is the standard Chinese fitting. The hands are reversible (black / silver) which is good as the face of my clock is mahogany and black hands wouldn't be easily visible.The banking plug for the second hand doesn't fit due to limited clearance when the glass front of the clock is closed. I may try adding another washer between the mech and the back of the dial to address this, as I dont like being able to see the while plastic shaft protruding.Setting up the chimes is a bit of a pain although the fact that the instructions are written in some of the most indecipherable Chinglish I've ever encountered doesn't help. Basically the mechanism and chime box are two separate units. The wire connection between them is a trigger - the clock mechanism clicks at the hour and tells the chime box to strike. There's no way for it to know how many times to strike - you have to set that up yourself by repeatedly pressing the botton on the back, advancing it by one hour each press until it corresponds with the time displayed by the hands.Try as I may, i haven't been able to get mine to strike the quarters. This is annoying, but not something worth returning the unit over.In short, it's a nice neat little solution that costs about half that of the others I've looked at (most of those have a wide selection of melodies including Ave Maria etc, but i only wanted Westminster chimes so this one suited me). The chime is a little tinny, even on a good solid wooden case - not as bad as a cheap door bell, but nowhere near as sweet and rich as a proper set of metal chime bars - and a bigger speaker / option to connect one would be nice, as would the ability to toggle night mode on or off. Better instructions would make a huge difference.

    Clock mechanism keeps good time but the chime is crap sounds like a distorted big Ben every hour makes the dogs go nuts 🤪 just go for a mechanism on its own or pay the higher price for better quality.

    My husband spent alot of time doing our clock for nothing! He couldn't find anywhere to fit the chime part and the ticking part was rampant it went like the clappers. Don't buy!!!!!

    Seems like a good product so far. The nice thing is if you don't need the pendulum you can just lock it in place.The only problem I had was the hands that they sent with it didn't fit. But the hands from the old mechanism fit just fine. Think they need to package them a bit better. Other than that everything works as it should.

    Dieses Uhrwerk ersetzt nun das Mechanische Pendel-Uhrwerk einer alten Wanduhr mit Gewichten.Da für eine Reparatur der alten Uhr ca 200€ angesetzt wurden, entschloss ich mich, diese auf Quarzwerk umzurüsten. Nach einigen Änderungen am Uhrwerkskasten hinter der Front, ging der Einbau recht einfach.Die beiliegende Anleitung zum Abgleich von Uhr- und Läutewerk in Englisch ist recht umständlich beschrieben.Ich habe einfach die Batterien ins Läutewwerk eingelegt und an der kleinen Taste so oft gedrückt, bis das Werk 11 Mal läutete. Dann habe ich die Steckverbingung zwischen Uhr- und Läutewerk zusammengesteckt und an dem gerändelten Einstelknopf des Uhrwerks langsam gedreht, bis die Uhr nun 12 Mal läutete. Dann die drei Zeiger in Stellung 12 Uhr aufgesteckt und die Batterie ins Uhrwerk eingelegt.Fertig der Abgleich. Die Uhr schlägt nun zur vollen Stunde synchron zur Zeit.Danach noch die Gewichte und das original Pendel der Uhr eingehangen.Fertig der Umbau.

    Me llegó super rápido, muy bien empaquetado y parece ser que está funcionando, solamente que hay que darle con el modo en que se debe configurar para que de las los horas correctamente junto con el sistema mecánico.

    Comprado de segunda mano. Funcionamiento perfecto. Es cierto que el sonido no es nada del otro mundo, pero por lo que costo, poco mas se le puede exigir. Lei que era recomendable no usar pilas alcalinas.. Al parecer, estas pueden dañar el mecanismo. Lleva un par de semanas funcionando con pilas 'normales' y sin problemas por el momento. Ezpero que dure.
