After purchasing a very basic and cheap (£30) machine from Bolo, which turned out to be little more than a toy, and then one that cost roughly £60 with 12 stitch types (you know the one!!) which also turned out to be useless and infuriating to use I decided to purchase this BrotherThis is the cheapest, known brand, sewing machine you can buy but it’s simply fantastic. It just works and works very well indeedNo more constantly breaking needles and thread like the other two machines. You just thread it up, which is simplicity itself, and off you goI think for just £85, for a well respected brand like Brother, it is an absolute bargain. Also bare in mind that you get a 3 year warranty with this machineI cannot recommend it enough. All the reviews are spot on with this machineIt’s also very quiet and can sew very slowly if required but can go like the clappers when you need to!As most of the other reviews have already said it’s a great machine and you just can’t go wrongI really wouldn’t waste your money on any of the cheap ‘mini’ sewing machines as they will infuriate you with how bad they really are, and sewing is supposed to be funTotally and utterly 100% recommend this Brother sewing machine. I’m massively impressed and enjoying every minute using itUPDATE: I’ve now been using this lovely machine quite extensively repairing and altering loads of things and it’s been working fantastic. Not once have I had broken thread or needles. The only tiny thing I did notice is that you need to allow enough upper thread so when you start sewing it doesn’t pull through the needle, apart from that it’s a little wonder!!UPDATE 2: I have been using this Brother sewing machine for lots of different sewing projects and it’s been absolutely fantastic. Not once have I had a broken thread or needle. It just works and works very well indeed. It’s a complete bargain for such a great machine from a great companyUPDATE 3: Please do not waste your money on the, so called, mini sewing machines from China. I tried a couple of them and they are just so frustrating to use and will probably put you off sewing for life. This is THE cheapest, known brand, sewing machine you can buy. The fact that it also has a 3 year warranty makes it a no brainier in my viewUPDATE 4:I thought I had a faulty machine… oops! I read the instruction manual and thought that you could rotate the stitch selection knob all the way, 360 degrees, but discovered that actually you rotate it from stitch 1 through to stitch 14 and then back again (right to left & left to right)… hope that makes sense; the knob doesn’t rotate all the way round (360 degrees)UPDATE 5:This Brother sewing machine is still impressing me! It’s so easy to use and just sews so well. A totally brilliant machine. Please don’t bother with the ‘cheap’ toy machines from China as you will never be happy with them. Save up a little bit and buy this Brother sewing machine, it’s a real bargain for such a great machine

Like the price on Bolo quick delivery of the Brother LS14S sewing machine bought to sew dolls clothes for charity and myself it has got 14 stitches it came with a DVD with instructions on how to use the machine and also has got the operation manual for English and other countries came with 4 empty spools or bobbins for you to wind up your own cotton on nice and light not to heavy and stitches well and to thread the needle I use a threader as to small of eye also came with three snap on pressor foot easy to snap on the machine just pull down slightly on the foot with the machine turned off and change it to another pressor foot just place on the machine inline with the shank and lower it and it will snap on the shank ready to use and threading the needle was easy using the needle threader and placing the bobbin in the machine by the needle was easy just follow the directions on the machine and use your hand to turn the needle down and pick-up the lower thread and have about 2-3 inches behind the pressor foot and place your project to be sewn on the machine and turn the machine on and press the foot pedal slowly down sow the material catches under the pressor foot then you can speed it up by pressing down on the foot pedal and sew the item there's YouTube videos that will help you get started on with you sewing machine it has got the twin needle operation using the twin needle which is purchased from eBay and the extra spool pin for the Brother sewing machine also you can purchase more pressor feet on Bolo and eBay for the machine just look for the same type of foot you have got already so I bought a adjustable seam pressor foot to help me with seam sewing on the machine.

An entry-level sewing machine that performs well, looks nice and is well made too.Sturdy, feels like a more premium machine. Not excessively heavy. Nice size to work with and to store.Simple stitch selection. Surprised there's no separate stitch-length dial, but most of the preset stitches are available with a selection of stitch lengths.Accessories included are rather limited, just a couple of presser feet really.You'll want to get a wider set of feet and some more bobbins.Threading-up is very easy.The internal light is a white LED in this machine. It's very weak so I use a table lamp nearby to augment it.So, a good sewing machine choice for beginners and hobbyists who will be well catered for by the preset stitch options.

I bought this as a gift for a junior school class. They were keen to learn to sew. It's cheap but it works well and easy to thread etc. It was a bit light compared to my own which is older and has heft behind it. I had to stop some of the boys from leaning against it. For a first time sewing machine its good value for money and a great gift for a young person starting out.

Lightweight compact sewing machine. Does all the basic stitches I will need it for. Have not tried the button hole settings yet. Easy to set up - standard threading set up. It was important for me that it is quite light as I have back issues and would not be able to move a heavy machine -this is perfect.First machine arrived with a puncture hole through all the packaging and through the front of the machine! Was replaced the following day with no issues via prime.

جميل جدا ورائع ولكن الي يخيط بكثره انصحه بجهاز مصانع افضل من هذا لان ذا فقط للاستخدام الخفيف اما حق المصانع الي يجي معه طاوله يتحمل الشغل بكثره تعطل على والدتي لانها تخيط ملابس من الصفر وبكثره كميه كبيره ف بنشتري ان شاءالله مكينه مصانع .

A Priori la máquina esta muy bien y más por el precio a la que la conseguimos, lo malo es que el enchufe no es español, pero vamos que con un adaptador no hay problema. Más adelante volveré y comentaré ya con un poco más de uso
Great little machine
I was looking for a machine I could easily lift out of a cupboard, as my old one was soooo heavy. I wanted a machine that was not so toy like it would not do the work. This is perfect. Although light in weight it tackles the usual household sewing. I am delighted with it.
