About this item:
WHAT IS AIRPHYSIO? AirPhysio is a drug-free handheld lung physiotherapy device. It uses an all-natural Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure (OPEP) process to create pressure and vibration causing mucus to loosen and move progressively up the airways until it can be coughed out or swallowed. The AirPhysio device also assists to increase lung capacity and open blocked and semi-closed airways. OPEP therapy has proven to be an effective means of clearing the airway for individuals with any of the following respiratory conditions: Cystic Fibrosis; Asthma; Bronchiectasis; Atelectasis; Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases (COPDs), such as Chronic Bronchitis and Emphysema; Other conditions producing retained secretions. AirPhysio can also be used as an adjunctive therapy to prevent pulmonary complications in patients after surgery (i.e. cardiac and abdominal surgeries) and, facilitates secretion mobilization, prevents atelectasis, and increases lung volume of patients postoperatively. WHEN TO USE AIRPHYSIO: Use the device up to 5 -10 mins, at least twice a day when symptoms show, or as required. HOW DOES AIRPHYSIO WORK? When you exhale through the device, a positive pressure is created in your lungs which will assist in strengthening and expansion. This pressure will be created even when the steel ball is not moving. As your lung strength increases, your breath will move the steel ball. The steel ball movement creates an oscillating pressure to assist in vibration of the airways which will loosen mucus from the airway walls. It doesn't look like much, but, simplicity is at the core of its' effectiveness. I had a nagging cough which kept me up night after night, as well as my wife. I couldn't seem to clear my chest. After using this device for a few minutes, I was coughing and snorting up a ton fo phlegm. The experience was dramatic and not exactly pleasant, but it was over quickly and I was able to sleep for hours without coughing. I use my air pysio often during the day and I do an extended session every night before bed. It works.

I was getting so fed up with not being able to breathe properly and especially not being able to sing; and it not being connected to infection, weather, environment etc; and having tried all the usual remedies, I bought this as a last resort. A bit put off by the price but high prices are often the result of a new development. Much to my surprise it worked withing a couple of days. I did not realise I was feeling 'normal' until about a week later! I do not need to use it as often as they say so don't be put off by the regime suggested. Now I keep it on my desk (it is very attractively designed) and just use it as and when. Holding your breathe in any, even minor stressful, situation is very common; so if nothing else it is a reminder to breathe as deeply as you can whenever possible. Would definitely recommend.

The trial of this respiratory pipe is ongoing so far it seems good for lung exercise but not as an expectorant.The assembly was a bit finicky but the instructions are quite easy to follow.It is extremely expensive opposed to much cheaper Chinese models which work just as well but have inferior plastic casing.The methodology and results are just the same .This can be borne in mind when purchasing. Next time I will go for the cheaper model as there is little difference

I ordered two of the Air Physio lung expander's. One worked perfectly and is a useful aid for asthma. The second one was faulty and had to be sent back, this was 16 weeks ago and I have not yet had a refund nor has the company contacted me.

First time writing a review but in this instance i felt it was importantyes the product works, sure. but its overprised as hellthe product is essentually a plastic case u blow into with a ball bearingI bought this at the same time as i bought the same thing from Kan-breathe (mucus clearance device) for a fraction of the price and they do EXACTLY the same thing. and that product was just a little over 20 quid.sometimes price is indicative to quality. in this case its not.highly overpriced. buy any cheap alternative on Bolo. they do exactly the same thing.i imagine putting a ball bearing in a plastic blowing device shouldnt cost what this product costs.
