Had an earlier version of this jacket previously, and it’s that good I’ve bought it again. Nothing wrong with the old one either; still going strong, just always regretted not getting it in black. With that detail rectified, I couldn’t ask for a better jacket. The weight is perfect. Great in the wind and good in light showers. Takes a decent beating actually. Strangely, warm enough when you need it to be and cool enough when you don’t.

Good value in a world full of overpriced outdoor gear. Does the job as far as being windproof is concerned but can’t attest to how water resistant it is yet. The sizing is fine if you like a snug fit and plan to wear with just a shirt underneath, but you may need to size up if you want any significant layering underneath. Having said that, it’s quite stretchy and the hood is decent too. Not perfect as I find it very slightly uncomfortable around the neck when fully zipped up, but that’s not a dealbreaker. Overall I would recommend for non-technical use if you want a jacket that packs relatively small to take the chill off when the wind picks up a bit. You can buy better softshells, but only for a lot more money.

I have a lot of mountain walking experience and would not wear this in the Scottish mountains when the weather is unpredictable. It is a softshell, so I wouldn't expect it to cope with adverse mountain weather. That said, this is a brilliant jacket, it looks good, it is wind proof and withstands light showers (the water beads on the surface). The three zipped pockets are sufficiently deep. It has a detachable hood which, unlike many other jackets, is a good fit. I purchased the large size and it is an excellent fit. Perfect casual wear jacket. No complaints whatsoever.

I really wanted to like this but couldn't get on with Columbia's sizing so had to return.It's a good quality softshell overall, but having ordered an XL I found that not only way too wide in the body but also too long in the arms. Opted for a Large instead but unfortunately it was a bit too tight for me.If the sizing works for you, it's quite thick and would works as a windbreaker and a light winter coat.

Sieht gut aus (bei170cm/63 KG), Fühlt sich gut an und ist eine tolle Jacke. Ich bin begeistert. Die Colombia sitzt bei mir gut. Toll ist der Kragen, der sich in eine Kapuze verwandeln lässt. Für mich ist die Columbia Cascade eine sehr gute Funktionsjacke. Bei mir sind die Ärmel etwas zu lang, aber ich bin auch klein.Columbia hat alles richtig gemacht. Und für 88€ alles o.k. Nun warte ich auf kälteres Wetter, dass ich sie ausprobieren kann.
