5.0 out of 5 stars SUPER EASY TO USE FOR SINGING

    A.H. · 5 September 2018

Operation:Operation of the unit is very simple. You insert 2 X AA into the Transmitter and 2 X AAA into the receiver and turn them on. There are some minor nuances about turning things on in a certain order but nothing cumbersome. The batteries in question can be purchased from poundland (the purple brand with “LR6” noted near the barcode) so they are extremely cheap to maintain. There is also multiple frequencies but I haven’t needed to alter this at all so far.Once turned on you will see the light change from flashing green to solid red on the receiver and then you are connected. Adjust your volume as per and start singing! The lapel mic is almost entirely un-usable for singing but good for film making and interviews so it’s fantastic that it is included In the box. The Headset mic is much better and is easy to fit on your head with an adjustable mouth piece.I am a tall person and the wire reaches perfectly from the transmitter to my headset mic so it’s a very versatile set.Parts and quality of production:The parts are solid and simple and easy to operate. It is easy to see that they are a affordable quality of plastic and some of the battery components (the circuitry) is slightly wiggly but I imagine it is nothing you couldn’t un screw and solidify with a small amount of work. This could be due over handling on my part or simply the exact model I got could be slightly loose. None of the above notes affect operation and I am yet to experience a real problem. Batteries pop in easily and are fast and easy to replace.Good batteries last about 4.5 hours each but this is a high tech piece of magic really, so you can’t ask for much more. I notice that they tend to run out at different times which seems odd but I couldn’t say why this happens. However it also doesn’t matter to much as long as you have spares. The headset works out of the box and is a great quality of sound (massively better than the ones you see the preachers using which give an astoundingly bad and muffled quality), I believe it is a miniature condenser mic. It does pick up a little wind sometimes but not often. The headset does however have a strange shape on the left side of the head, which is a bit heavy and can cause minor discomfort after an hour or so usage. I am waiting on a replacement headset from online. The wires are a good quality and although a bit thin they appear hard to break with sturdy and strong male mini XLR jacks. I haven’t had any problems getting them in or out of the female jacks.Sound quality:The sound is crisp and sharp with very little peaking. If you try to sit or stand within a metre or so of the amp whilst it is all plugged in and turned on it will scream at you with feedback but this is not unusual for any mic really. You can turn it up quite loud but it picks up a lot more than you think it would being right next to your mouth so your mic volume doesn’t actually have to be loud.Sadly the Lapel mic is somehow a considerably lesser quality (which is odd as it appears to be identical manufacturing) however I am certain it would suffice for teaching or lecturing.Closing thoughts:I dived into this purchase with extreme trepidation. This set is about £40.00 cheaper than its next cousin and another £40-50.00 than any other over that. Consequently I could tell this was a bargain version. I have been using it a lot for about two months and had no major issues bar the slightly loose battery circuit, which I am honestly yet to confirm for certain. I would safely give it a 5/5 for the value and usage, although the fairly useless lapel mic is a bit sad but I wasn’t even banking on it anyway.

This wireless mic is an excellent budget option for anyone in the market for a low cost lav mic system. Straight out of the box, the system works perfectly, switch on both units and they sync instantly every single time. Worth noting here is that the system does not come with any batteries, and another quirk is that one unit takes AA batteries while the other takes AAA batteries. The build quality is not fantastic but its not terrible either, about right considering the money they are charging. The wireless capabilities are very good indeed, I was able to get about 65 feet away from the camera in a wooded area before i experienced any signal drop outs. Your results may vary, but that was an extreme example. working 10-15 feet away from the camera is more realistic and at this range, they system wont let you down. It does however rely on line of sight, so this probably wont work too great if you plan to walk into a different room for example. In the box, the system contains a plethora of cables and connections should you wish to connect the mic system to a camera, a phone or a PA system Fifine have you covered. One thing i would like to have seen added is a 'fur' or wind sock to cover the mic if the lav mic is intended to be used outside as even a slight wind will be picked up and ruin your audio. The microphone itself is probably the weakest link in the whole system, the sound quality is adequate but dont expect crystal clear audio, and at this price range you really shouldnt be hoping for much more. With some tweaking in an audio or video software, some pleasing results can be obtained however. The microphone cable uses a micro XLR connection which is another issue. a simple 3.5mm jack would have been preferable in my opinion as it would provide the option to upgrade the microphone, and still retain the excellent wireless capabilities. I have not been able to find any replacement lav mics with a micro XLR connection, meaning if it breaks you may well have to replace the whole system. Tech savvy people may be able to patch together another microphone to the mini XLR setup. All in all, for the money being asked, you get a good value wireless mic set. Anyone wishing to use this through a PA system and don't require perfect audio - fitness/dance instructors for example will get the most value out of this in my opinion. Youtuber's etc will probably also benefit from the range and benefits of a lav system in order to walk further from the camera, but professionals such as wedding videographers for example may wish to look at an alternative product or consider upgrading the microphone if possible. The price is absolutely right for this product in terms of features, usability and sound quality. You can also expect excellent customer service from Fifine if it is required.

3.0 out of 5 stars FIFINE Wireless Microphone Headset

Useful and cheap enough, and easy to use. Transmitter and receiver work well and plenty of choice of frequencies to use, but do not rate the mic headset supplied. For sure, I cant expect miracles at this price, but the headset suffers from extreme plosive sounds and feedback. I have basically binned and use better quality mic headset in its place. All in all, I would not buy similar again

The transmitters are good and have decent range. Power consumption isn't too bad either. They're plastic and not hugely robust but if you're careful then they'll be grand. The headset mic is not very good. Not very adjustable and prone to popping. But the lapel mic is decent and produces a good quality sound. The good thing is that you could upgrade to a higher quality mic and have a very nice setup for very little. I've performed comedy gigs (3 of us using these units at once) with this and it's been crystal clear and reliable.

1.0 out of 5 stars Actually, it's not as good as good as I thought now I've really used it

The receiving unit eats batteries. I'm lucky if I get 3 hours continuous use.The headset is badly shaped, certainly for my head. The arm that he microphone attaches to is so weak that the end drops down constantly, making it harder to be heard without constantly adjusting the arm.The other problem with the mic arm is that it rotates so that the microphone is not pointing at your mouth, again making it harder to be heard.Recently it's started to crackle, despite trying 3 battery manufacturers it still does it.
