Fantastic! I was sold on the Air 3S a year before launch, knew it would be the perfect replacement for my Air 2S. Great to have that 1 inch sensor, along with the much improved tele camera.Only downside for me is the size has really taken a bump up with the Air series, very close to a Mavic size.

Ordered this as an update to my existing drone (a Mavic 2 Pro) as this is an older, non-type approved model by the CAA. This is a newly released model from DJI and fits into the Air product range- which is designed as a hyper portable drone for travellers/explorers. The item arrived well packaged in a solid box within a shipping box.There are two versions of this drone- the one with the high-end Android based controller (with screen) and the standard controller which needs a smartphone or tablet.. this is the model being review here. Unpacking the drone, there is a selection of accessories including cables, rotor blades and a battery. Once point to note is there is no charger supplied with this kit- you will need to purchase a 65w usb-c charger .. bad marketing there DJI!The drone will likely need updating prior to use, as there are regular mandatory firmware updates and No-fly zone database refreshes that need applying before flight for both drone and handset. Once done, the drone is ready to go. The flight time has been increased from 30mins (on my Mavic 2) to 45 mins, although as always, keep an eye on the screen for battery levels. The drone handles well, with a multitude of features such as Actitrack (follow/track a person/vehicle etc), waypoints and sports modes. Range is now around 20km, but as per CAA rules you should keep drone in line of sight unless you hold specialist qualifications.The camera is amazing on this new drone, with a 4k panoramic sensor as standard. The quality and output is stunning, even in poor light. The stablization on the gimble is good, with minimal movement when filming. Another feature is 40gb built in storage (along with an micro SD slot), giving you a decent storage option. My only gripe is that DJI are not making a stand alone "fly more" kit for this drone currently- only with drone included, so if you want the charger/additional batteries etc, the cost is seriously going to ramp up. That said, this drone is pretty special- up to DJI's usual quality and is feature rich. Please be aware that you must register this drone with the CAA prior to flying and you must apply an operator number on the device too.. easy to do and costs £9 a year.. stay safe and legal while enjoying your drone journey. Brilliant upgrade to my previous model ...A+++

I need to start by saying I am by no means a drone expert. I've only quite recently started using them, and I'm not very technical. However, there are a lot of very technical, detailed video reviews of this DJI Air 3S on line for those who want that sort of information. I actually ordered this primarily for mapping the movements of our local wildlife, particularly the muntjac that come into my garden and eat my roses and veggies.Unpacking: the drone arrived in a basic but very giftable (if you're being generous!) box. Inside were the drone, the remote, a single battery, a USB-C cable and a Lightening connector cable for the RC unit, a set of stickers to apply if you wish, and a number of cards and leaflets. These include a quick-start guide; a card with a Q-code to link to a DJI forum; various safety guides including Flying rules for Japan, Australia and New Zealand (but not the UK); and information guides which basically say check your local rules and follow them. There's also a Q-code on the inside of the box lid to scan to install the user app, read the user manual and watch video tutorials. No charger is provided, so that and spare batteroes may be a future purchase to plan for.***It's not very clear from the documents, but the CAA requires you register the drone, and get an operator and flyer ID for a drone like this one. I am not allowed to link the page here, but details are easily found on-line if you search CAA and "registering to use a drone".***In use: I have another much lower spec. drone that I've been using, but it's done a crash-and-die on me.So this one has several wonderful features that are great improvements.The first is the return-to-base cabability, even with no satellite signal for the GPs. I'm in an area with unreliable coverage and this works very well: the drone came back to exactly where it was launched.The second is the obstacle detection. The LiDAR, a lazer assisted detection system, works brilliantly, with the drone stopping steadfastly at even common thin obstacles like twigs, cables and wires; dodging branches, zipping through tunnels created by overhanging shrubs and so-on. It drew the line at a bramble tunnel that looked to me as if it had sufficient flight path, but I trust it to know better than I do and was glad not to have to retrieve it from brambles! I also tested this (briefly) at night and it navigated my dark garden safely.The third is the tracking. Being able to identify a moving object that you want to track (my greedy muntjac was one) is really handy and it worked brilliantly - until the target went out of sight into a thicket.There are other nifty features too, like the panorama mode which works really smoothly and looks extremely professional, even when used by a beginner like me.The battery claims 45 minutes flight time. As I didn't have any spares, I was a little anxious about this but it went to 40 minutes with no problems. The battery took slightly over an hour to recharge with my charger, but I will definitely buy some extra batteries for back up and probably invest in the DJI charging hub too.I have no negatives - this is a great drone, and even a friend who is a drone enthusiast and helped with the testing was thoroughly impressed. If I were buying one, I would seriously consider upgrading to the 'More combo' (https://www.Bolo.co.uk/dp/B07FVXWFDZ) with the carry case, extra batteries and charger and filters as these are all things I will be buying!Thoroughly recommended!

Ohne Netzteil
Keine Ahnung wie gut die 3s ist - denn leider bleibt sie ohne Strom am Boden - 1599 Euro und es ist kein Netzteil dabei (benötigt 65 oder 100 Watt - DJI nimmt dafür 45 bzw 49 Euro) - kann somit morgen losgehen und mir erstmal ein entsprechendes Netzteil kaufen... Bei der 2s war es selbstverständlich dabei...

世界トップシェアを誇るDJI製民生用カメラ付きドローンAir3シリーズの後継機コンボコンボ内容は、本体、スクリーン付き送信機、バッテリー×3、充電ハブ、NDフィルターセット、予備プロペラ、ジンバルプロテクター、typeC-typeCケーブル、ショルダーバッグとなっている。前機種のAir3からの変更点を大まかに説明すると、機体の内蔵ストレージが8GBから42GBに向上、広角、中望遠カメラ性能向上、前面に高性能レーザーセンサーが追加され障害物検知性能向上、及び夜やGPSが弱い場所での各センサーとカメラを活かした安全性の高いリターントゥーホーム機能等が上げられる。初期設定や機能面まで細かく説明していると余りに長文となってしまうので、とりあえずは建物内で操作した感想だけをサラッと書かせていただく。今までオモチャみたいなドローンしか操作した事の無い人間の感覚からすれば、飛行性能、安全面共に素晴らしいの一言。覚える事は結構あるものの、ラジコンヘリよりは遥かに操作が簡単。ほぼ送信機のみで対応できる使い勝手の良さに加え、カメラは素人が動画撮影しても想定以上に美麗に映る程高性能で大感動だった。まあ、あくまで素人目の感想になるのだが、高水準なバランスでまとまった総合力の高いドローンだと思う。世界トップシェアの実力を思い知りましたと伝えておきたい。もっと上位のモデルもあるとは思うが、兎に角個人的には十二分に満足した文句無しの超オススメドローン。ただ、このドローンを野外で使用する場合、国土交通省への機体登録、飛行許可、承認手続きが必須となってくる上、使用場所や条件によっては国家資格も必須になってくる。なので、何の手続きも無しにいきなりその辺で飛行させると、法律上非常に宜しくない為絶対にしない事。絶っ対にそこだけは遵守し正しく使っていただきたい。是非資格を取って仕事に活かしたい！

This DJI done is unbelievable! I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to articulate how impressed I am with it but I’ll sure try.I got the Air 3s Fly More combo with the drone, three batteries, smart charger, shoulder bag, remote with a screen and three different camera lenses. Incredible value compared to the kits without the extras!!The drone itself is lightweight and very well made, DJI thought of everything, from the excellently functioning LiDAR for obstacle avoidance, the dual cameras, RTH feature, landing light and built in storage, I couldn’t ask for more!All the photos and video I’ve taken so far has been breathtaking and high quality. This is my first drone so I don’t have a basis for comparison but it’s super easy to set up and learn to fly. Sadly I’m a bit limited on where I can fly it as there’s a few things I didn’t think about prior to getting this:1. In Canada, since this drone weights more than 250g I will need to get a drone pilot license from transport Canada, it’s cheap to attempt the exam, currently only $10 and you can try as many times as you like (just have to wait 24 hours between attempts) but there is some studying to be done. There are tons of resources online to learn this content.2. I live in restricted airspace due to two heliports very close to my home, this means that after I get my licence I will have to travel out of this area before flying. The great news here is that the RC controller, which is also amazing, has built in maps that you have to check before taking off to ensure you are not flying somewhere you shouldn’t be. This is a phenomenal feature and adds peace of mind when flying the drone. Always do your research on where you can fly and how to do so safely and without bothering people or animals. The drone community relies on each other to ensure the hobby does not get over restricted due to bad elements not following the rules!The return to home function is another incredible feature. One button press and this thing she comes home by itself and lands safely where it took off from. It’s amazing to behold!I absolutely cannot wait to get more air time with this drone once I’m licensed, it’s an amazing piece of technology that holds so many opportunities to capture amazing footage!
