5.0 out of 5 stars A Technical Triumph
This extraordinary device connects an iPhone to a T+A MP 2000R Mk 2 - itself an accomplished high fidelity streaming amplifier and CD player but with modest Bluetooth performance. The audio output of this Bluetooth DAC is astonishing and the 3D simulation not the unnecessary gadget I thought it might be but something that adds remarkable depth to the sound. It pairs instantly and has sufficient range for the phone to retain its connection throughout the house. Excellent value for money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Quick, simple, effective
I hooked this up via optical cable to my DAC which drives a couple of passive bookshelf speakers. I then Bluetooth connected it to my Alexa & within a few seconds was streaming music through from Alexa to my speakers.I was immediately impressed with the quality of the sound & the 3D button gives it another boost.I have had occasional drop-outs but this was due to an obstruction between Alexa & this unit. It is also perhaps a little on the quiet side so I do have to crank Alexa's volume up to get the sounds I like.Overall five out five for the simplicity, sound quality & cost-effectiveness.
4.0 out of 5 stars Always sends signal to DAC
UPDATE July 2023:I've had this unit for a few months now and I like it more than I did immediately after purchase. aptX HD sounds amazing on my Benchmark DAC3. It's truly CD quality, plus the signal never drops out. However, this unit outputs ALL audio at 24 bit/44 khz no matter what the source is, so I'm not sure exactly what type of processing it's doing. I personally don't think LDAC is fit for purpose due to constant droputs at 660 and 990 kbps (LDAC has 3 bit rates, 330/660/990 kbps, and your phone will likely lower the bit rate to 330kbps to prevent dropouts, which is lower than aptX HD's bit rate of 576 kbps). So I really like that this Bluetooth receiver has aptX HD and not LDAC, which I think is a great compromise between sound quality and dropouts.Original review (March 2023):I can confirm this unit has a coaxial and optical digital output, which is rare. Most Bluetooth receivers only have optical out.The main reason I'm not 100% happy with this Bluetooth receiver is because it never stops sending an active signal to my DAC. Since my DAC has no power button and turns itself off when there is no audio signal (it's a Benchmark DAC1 USB), my DAC always stays ON if this receiver is connected. So I have to turn off the Bluetooth receiver, which is kind of a pain as I like it to automatically connect to my phone without any faff. The other problem is that I'm not sure the digital signal this Bluetooth receiver sends to my DAC is bit perfect, but it still sounds good. The unit has a volume control, which you should never use because digital volume controls reduce volume by lowering the bit rate of your music. For digital music, the bits, such as 16 bits, control the volume of the various sounds in the music. So if the bits are lowered to say, 8 bits, to reduce the volume, you lose the dynamics in the music that's played because all of the instruments will sound like they are the same volume. So I recommend only using the maximum volume setting on this device at all times to maintain the highest bit rate and let your amplifier control the volume. Also, this unit has a "3D" setting which makes the music sound very weird. It certainly isn't 3D! I recommend you keep this feature turned OFF.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great audio quality
Works well, if you'd like to switch to LDAC on Android click the settings gear next to the bluetooth device name and then enable high quality audio (works on Samsung phones). There is no noise in the audio playback, tested with high quality wired headphones. If you'd like to switch between devices hold the pair button until it starts blinking, then click on B06 to connect to it in the Blueetooth settings of your second device (no need to pair it again, if it is already paired with that device).
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality
Easy to use
5.0 out of 5 stars Great bit of kit
I was sceptical about ordering this as a replacement for my existing bluetooth receiver, however I am so glad I did.The sound is superb through this, great clarity and quality. What a difference! I have this hooked upto a vintage toshiba hifi from the 70s. To me this us a game changer. OK, it's a tad expensive but in my eyes you get what you pay for.Superb.
3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading contents
Items works as described and easy to setup and connect via bluetooth. Volume seems limited on SBC, though better on APTX. Description implies there is a power supply in the box, but it seems when they say "in the box (optional)" they mean it is not supplied.
5.0 out of 5 stars Transformed my hi fi.
This unit was easy to instal and pair with the iPhone. I used the toslink to the amplifier of my ancient but high quality Pioneer Hi-Fi. It worked first time and produced high fidelity sound in keeping with the system. There has been no dropping out and pairing new devices is a doddle. I had tried a cheaper unit previously but there was introduced noise and the sound quality was poor so I am delighted with the new receiver. Great value.
So Useful
A reasonably priced Bluetooth receiver. I don’t listen to music too much in my AV set up but it offers a nice and convenient way to do so now. Connectivity is a snap, and functionality is a breeze. No issues since I set it up. It ticks into my rack and is nearly invisible. If I’d add anything to it is a remote turn off.

The device is very excellent and professional. It was delivered to me in a short time and I have recommended it to my friends
Works well - 12 months on review
I bought this over 12 months ago, its been a really good buy and always works well.Recommended
Works great!
I purchased this Bluetooth transmitter to put in my business. It is easy to install, and very user friendly. The Bluetooth connects from a far range and does not have connection issues. It is small and compact so it is not something many people notice. Good value for your money.
A sweet update to older technology sound systems.
Easy to set up and utilize. Makes a great connection to an 18 year old receiver to utilize Bluetooth.Sound quality is good. Performance so far is worth every cent. I was a bit reticent to buy an off brand but it does the job well. I have used the Harman Kardon BTA which works very well, but the is comparable in sound and has even better distance ability. It is a bit bigger than the HK, but not by much.I recommend it, especially for the price!
