5.0 out of 5 stars Great speaker for a great price
I bought this to use in an old car with no stereo. Works great. Car is fairly loud but i can still hear this speaker over the engine.I do also use it indoors as well.Sound quality is very good in both situations. When compared to a jbl flip 4, sound wise, i felt this was a little more rounded, which i prefer. The jbl flip 4 was a little heavier on higher frequencies, especially when volume is higher. I felt the flip 4 was a little harsh at peak volume but this was less so. Also, with the offset drivers in this, the sound is dispersed differently. I prefer it as wherever you point it, you get your music and it is consistent. Not louder in any particular spot. For the price, this really is a great speaker. It boasts similar features to market leading speakers for a lot less.It feels sturdy and well built.I have not needed to test the waterproof functionality at this point. The battery life is amazing! I've only had to charge it a couple of times so far.Using as a hands free in my old car worked great as well. I have used other speakers that were muffled and the other person had issues hearing me. This was not crystal clear as i was using in the car, but it was much better than what i had used before. If this were lost or damaged, i would replace it like-for-like.If you want the brand name, get the jbl flip 4. That's a great speaker. This one is just as good, just doesn't have the leading brand name or price tag. With this speaker, you can only connect 2 together, whereas with later jbl, you can connect more. But you don't need an app with this.Connectivity is easy and solid. No drops in signal as yet and it connects quickly every time i use it.
5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality bargain
I started with a £50 budget for a speaker and ordered the stormbox, maxsound plus and the ultimate ears wonderboom for a comparison. out of the box, all were nice products, aesthetically pleasing. I expected the wonderboom to be a higher quality than the tribits because of the pricing but as they all seemed well built, thought the diff would be in sound quality. So, I started by choosing my favourite from the 2 tribits (maxsound and stormbox). This was no easy task and I sat for 3 hours undecided. The maxsound has a beautiful warm and well balanced tone, ideal for easy listening - it’s a similar proposition to a Bose in respect of the balance but it lacks just a little bass for my musical preferences. The stormbox offers in bass what the maxsound lacks, but lacks the maxsounds warmth and mid-range balance. For dance music, anything beaty, or HIIT videos that you end up doing in quarantine, the stormbox edges it. It’s a close run thing though. The extra features of the stormbox are what decided it for me - the surround sound is much more immersive, and it offers joining up with a second speaker. Having chosen my favourite of the tribits, I tried the wonderboom. Frankly, it couldn’t live with the stormbox for depth and it couldn’t live with the maxsound for balance and warmth. Tribit seem to have nailed it with these speakers, they connect Bluetooth quickly and easily, are well made and got the price, either speaker is an absolute bargain. Obviously can’t comment yet on longevity or really on battery quality but I do have a pair of tribit headphones which I love and have served me well for a while so I’m confident in this regard as well.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Speaker!
I’ve had a ueBoom2 box before, which was a bit more expensive, but much worse.I’ve seen (and heared) the Tribit xBoom at a friend and was blown away. My mind: “I need to buy this thing :-) “Treble and bass are really well at all possible volumes. Amazingly good, I think!Only when you turn it very loud, you realize at some point that the bass is taken back, so that nothing oversteering (is it the correct word??). But that is OK.To the rear side:The rubber strap, behind which is the AUX port and the mini-USB port (to charge), can (at least at the beginning) be opened quite difficult. That is not bad, because so everything is a bit better protected from water penetration. The Powerbutton plays a short (and quiet) melody when turning on and off and shows the current state of charge (4 LEDs of 25% each)According to the data sheet, it keeps a good 20h and needs 4h to load. I have not yet come out of power in between. The x-boom button:Here you can take the bass back or just give full powerThen of course there is the pairing button with which all sorts of Bluetooth-enabled devices can be paired. Once pressed long and the discovery begins. To the front:This is kept simple:3 buttons - Loud, Quiet, and Play / Pause (press once) or continue (quickly press 2x)Pro:- lightweight- stable carrying loop (screwed, no push button!)- great sound!- Price is great!- easy connection to Bolo Alexa (now the Echo Dot sounds like a big one :-) )Cons:The only thing that comes to mind here: the top and bottom is open. This means that the speaker could sometimes get damaged if something comes to the swinging covers (whatever that is). Here a small grid might be safer. But I will not remove a star because of that. The thing is in the office (the room is determined 40 m2) and now runs almost the whole day, at night is loaded and the next day it goes on.
