5.0 out of 5 stars A great replacement for my delonghi and cookworks machines

    E.K. · 9 September 2024

This machine is at least as good as my cheap cookworks machine that I purchased from Argos over 10 years ago. Before that I had a delonghi which at the time was €71. They are about €200-300 now. The milk frother is much easier to clean and less susceptible to breakage. It does have to be used carefully like all coffee machines of this type making espresso first and then frothering afterwards (never the other way around). my young adult kids thoughts on it are "this is already worth the money" after 2-3 weeks of using it. The coffee is from bean (using a crusher from Bolo) and the taste is great. I've very picky about my coffee and coffee machines and will not pay €1000 for them because I've seen that many expensive models have issues with tube clogging, lime scaling issues and too much automation. This is completely manual. It does need tinkering with, but well worth it. I'd definitely buy it again.

If your looking for a coffee machine with 1 button to press and minimal effort don't buy this and then complain on the review it's 'faffy' or whatever word you'd use! It's an at home coffee machine with frother, not a Tassimo!Anywho, we love this little machine. It's perfect for a novice like myself and my husband. We've had it since January, I didn't want to leave a review until we'd given it a good run. I think 4 months is fair amount of time. We had a pod machine before this and although we liked it the coffee was always very 'blah'.So, once you've had a good few runs with it and you have a routine down it takes no more than 5 mins to make a proper coffee and clean the machine before sitting down to drink your creation. Which in my opinion is well worth it when you're getting a drink similar to one you'd pay a small fortune for. It's not all about the machine, the coffee itself is everything. You put a cheap nasty coffee in your going to get a crappy coffee.. You don't have to spend the earth to get good coffee, just do some research and read reviews. Discover what type of blends you like as well, it's not 1 fits all, we all have different taste buds. The frother is so good, it gets the milk so hot and what technique is used determines the type of froth you get. Coffee is an art of its own, your either into it or your not! My husband is way more into it than me, I'm happy with a flat white, he loves to experiment with it all.It is honestly easy to use, it's 3 buttons! You DO have to put some work into, I say work, it's still very simple. It isn't a pod machine with 1 button though so if you aren't prepared to learn and work a little for your coffee just buy a pod machine!Only slight downfall of the whole machine, the frother wand is just a tad short. If it was another cm or so longer it would be perfect. We still manage to use a larger jug when making more than 1 coffee at a time but it can take some time and doesnt reach the bottom so can sometimes not create that perfect froth. Use a small jug and the froth is perfect everytime! All in all would 100% recommend this coffee machine for at home use, it's well worth it's money. In comparison to others it's cheap, looks good and works brilliantly. We've raved about this to anyone who loves their coffee like we do ☺

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Lattes and Cappucinos!

The media could not be loaded. I have never used an espresso machine before getting my hands on this, in a couple of days i had the hang of it to the point i could make a latte in a couple of minutes. For a beginner, this is a great little espresso maker and the inbuilt milk frother is a massive bonus, especially for the price the unit is selling for. It comes with a single, and double-shot portafilter basket, with the portafilter itself being the 51mm type which is handy because you can get better coffee tampers for this as well, the plastic one..well... it's not good. The whole unit is made of plastic, which is to be expected for the price so when you are attaching the portafilter expect the entire unit to flex slightly with the pressure. The 15bar boiler is a bit excessive, would have been better with a 9 or 10 bar boiler, it does mean that a single shot basket will pull on the quick side and be a bit under-brewed, double shot's seem to be fine. As you will see in the video I have included, the espresso machine is VERY easy to use, even for a beginner like myself! The one major down side is the coffee tamper, its REALLY not good, get yourself a stainless steel 51mm coffee tamper, it makes things a lot easier.

Never worked, so I didn’t use it at all. Quality of plastics is bad, you just pay the pretty appearance. You can find much better with better price
