5.0 out of 5 stars Great value and soo comfy.
Well this chair arrived today on my lunch break and I challenged myself to put it together for the afternoon session. It took me a little over 20 minutes to put together on my own. Which was great. The quality feels amazing no wobbles or jiggles anywhere. Everything is tight and secure and fit where it should. I've been sat back at my desk this afternoon, and love this chair. I could easily fall asleep compared to my old basic chair, this is heaven, like an armchair. Loads of seat room, lumbar support and neck support are a grest feature, as it the reclining ability. However I have to say the foot rest is my favourite feature. I'm comfortably sat cross legged with my feet on the rest in front of me, and not cramped in anyway and I'm a big thigh girlie. Top marks for this chair. I love it and totally recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good chair
Amazing chair and so conformable, easy to assemble only difficult part was the back part of the chair to the seat but the rest was a breeze, use it was gaming and work, would recommend you you measure the area to make sure it fits as much bigger than you think, great chair
4.0 out of 5 stars Seat padding weak.
I work part-time from home, and bought this chair to replace a typical office swivel chair that was over 10 y.o. The seat had lost its softness and I needed to place a cushion on the chair to use it.The new chair was easy to assemble and very comfortable to sit on.However, I've had the new chair for just over 3 mths now, and use it for 3-4 hrs per day, and the seat padding is very soft and my bum rests on the hard seat base. Will need to start using a cushion again. ( I weigh 13.5 stone)
5.0 out of 5 stars Comfort
This was an upgrade from a chair I wasn't happy with and this chair is comfort all the way.Very well made with lots of features including head and neck cushion and lumber support cushion it also has a pull out leg rest and a lever to enable you to lie back. The chair looks good is a good size well made and a good price for what you get.5/5 for me with this one
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value chair for both comfort and ease of assembly
Over the years I have had a number of chairs for my study, some good, some not so, but all well above £150.00. With covid requiring me to work from home all day vs being able to visit customers at their premises I needed a comfortable chair that could be adjusted to my needs (I’m 6ft 1in tall), - not least so that the height of the chair is comfortable for the height of my desk. This one fits the bill perfectly! Even at its lowest setting, it is higher than my previous chair was when raised which is a bonus in itself. In addition I can position the back to exactly wherever Position I want it as well as have the additional support of a headrest that I can also adjust to exactly where I need it to be. In terms of assembly, I was able to build it by myself within 45 minutes helped by the fact that typical of German engineering, everything fitted together perfectly. So for the money, the ability to personalise the comfort to my exact needs and ease of assembly i am more than happy recommend to give this chair a 5 star rating.
3.0 out of 5 stars Seat foam considerably compressed after a month with 120kg on it.
The 'SONGMICS Gaming Chair, Office Racing Chair with Footrest, Ergonomic Design, Adjustable Headrest, Lumbar Support, 150 kg Weight Capacity, Black and Grey OBG77BGUK' arrived in a large box.I find selecting a suitable chair can be a nightmare, my last gaming char was not all it was cracked up to be, with the side wings forcing my wider shoulders forward, and although the gas cylinder was capable of supporting my 120kg, within just a few weeks, the foam seat had compressed so I was effectively sitting on the wooden base board of the seat, so had to add a 4 inch foam cushion to improve comfort. After 7 months the back of the chair had failed and one of the frame tubes had broken at the welds, and another tube was torn apart, this was because although the chair had back hinges either side, only the right hinge had a ratchet to lock the angle, the other side was purely a hinge, so all the load was on the ratchet, with the left side stressing the tubing and it's welds every time I sat back.On searching for a new chair I stumbled on this Songmics one,1. The back height was good to support my neck and head, being I am 6ft tall.2. The seat foam at 10cm/4 inches looked to be one of the thickest I have seen.3. The chair is capable of supporting up to 150kg, so my 120kg is well within its limits.4. The wings on the back of the chair are wide so should not squash my shoulders or push me forward.5. The back is attached to the base in the centre using a steel plate so loading when leaning back is evenly distributed unlike the previous chair though I was concerned the plate may be too thin.6. The chair came with lumbar and neck cushions.Unnecessary features for me, leg rest, tilting back, I prefer the type of chair where the base and back tilt together as they provide better support for the lower back. The chair met my requirements, so the only way I would know for certain if it was up to the task was to order one.The chair was relatively easy to assemble, and it was nice to find the metal plate that attaches the back to the base was about 8mm thick. Even without the lumbar cushion, with the back of the chair vertical, the chair gave me good lumbar support. I did find that if I used the lumbar cushion it kept me too far away from the headrest, and even without the cushion I still feel I am a bit too far away. The end result was I found a way to secure the lumbar cushion where the neck cushion should be and it now performs the function of the neck cushion, and being larger and thicker, it does a far better job than the cushion intended for the purpose which I felt was too soft.I did find that for the first week the seat base seemed a bit hard as it conformed to my shape and weight, though after just 1 month, the foam has considerably compressed and it is starting to feel a little too compressed and hard on the bottom with little if any support between myself and the wooden base board, so I am again having to consider adding additional foam padding, as I can be in this chair on and off for sometimes 18 hours in one day.The chair has also developed a 'clunk' when leaning back, which sounds like the mechanism has bedded in from new, but as it can be quite loud at times and it can be unnerving as it makes you wonder if the back may move too far.It would be nice if the manufacturers of these chairs gave the option of an additional style matched seat foam that could be placed on top of the existing seat to provide additional padding for those that need it.
